There is MyGov Corona Helpdesk (+91 90131 51515) setup by Indian government (It is a green tick verified account). I sent out an "Hi" and the bots responded with a canned answer. They have not pushing any information yet.

This has huge potential, if we can add this number to Whatsapp Groups, and government can push reliable information via Whatsapp, which our population considers it as gospel. Right now I am not able to add this number to a Group, since it is a business account.

Hopefully government along with Facebook/Whatsapp is working on the same.

Highly irresponsible behaviour from a Govt employee.

This is serious and puts every minister and head of state under quarantine if true. Some MPs who met him or came into contact with him in Parliament are announcing that they will be under quarantine.

Now she has been tested positive for COVID19 and her statement.

This may not be an entirely true news, she is infected yes. But there was no self quarantine notification when she arrived on Mar 9th from UK and did regular checks then that were in place.

Most news channels are carrying reports that she colluded with airport officials to escape screening and hid in washroom.

Also, she lied on call to Republic TV that she didn't attend any party post returning from London. There are pictures of her with politicians all over media. This is a big mess.

re: The Coronavirus Thread

Possibly Off Topic
This thread was started on 3rd February, 2020, that is when well informed people became really concerned. By December 2019, nearly the entire world was aware of the deadly nature of this virus and its mode of infection. It's rapid spread in some parts of the world were an indication of things to come. We could have stopped this virus in its tracks had we just taken the harsh step of quarantining all international travelers early on.
We are paying heavily for this delay. Cost to the people in terms of deaths and losses to the national economy in billions or even trillions of dollars.
Considering that we have dedicated ministries that monitor events across the world, possible threats from enemies, threats from natural disasters and the like, my question is, what delayed decisive action? What failed and why? Same question for all the countries in the world.

Well, as far as self quarantine is concerned, it must be true. But I don't see the reason for throwing a party when people were already being advised to reduce social contact. Search the net for her party snaps. Just look at the magnitude, her party was attended by Ex-CM Rajasthan and her MP son, Health Minister of UP, people from Bureaucracy amongst others. The MP had gone to meet the President as well as attended the Parliament. As of now, the ex-CM and MP are in isolation and so is the Health Minister of UP. And now her PR team is busy painting a picture that she is innocent.

While this was well known to most of us in January thanks to mass media, it's just that we didn't imagine it would turn into this. That is how the human psyche operates and ministries, staffed by people, are no different. It was just another problem 'somewhere' affecting 'some people'. It was, until now.

Disturbing scenes from an Italian hospital. Sky News was allowed to film because Italians want the world to see what happens when healthcare system is overwhelmed:

re: The Coronavirus Thread

Guys, what's the official count of active COVID19 cases in our country right now? I had checked the GOI website and it differentiates in the number reported by other sources.

According to GOI link: https://www.mohfw.gov.in

This says active cases:196

but the table below the same says something else. Any reliable source from where this information can be fetched?
