re: The "Online Shopping" Thread

The problem with Aliexpress is that most branded stuff are counterfeit. I could trust it to buy stuff that are unbranded, where I don't care about the brand, but not any branded stuff.

The tempered glass for a Lumia 720 I had ordered from AliExpress on 29th April was delivered yesterday. I had asked for Singapore Post, this cost me around $1.8 extra.

Yes I second that. The unbranded stuff are cheap and worth taking a risk. One more consideration I have with AliExpress is with the shipping time which is a minimum 21 days if opted for FREE SHIPPING. There is always the faster mode of shipping available, but it is expensive and thus spoils the deal.

Small, unique and cheap things which aren't available in India is what I look/shop from there.

That depends on the item and the seller. China Air Post is usually free in most cases, but the odd cases do charge you around $1-2 to ship.

I will try Hong Kong Mail next time as it is supposedly faster.

How do I track aliexpress shipment after it has reached indian shores / customs ?
The listed websites only track till it crosses Chinese borders.

Happy Shopping
I am curious about those 3 items. Where did you get them so cheap ?
I bought a Bosch Pressure washer for a little over 9k a couple of years ago and I bought Chromecast for a little short of 3k.

I want to pick up the Allan key set too.

SKIL pressure washer and Stanley allen key set were from Amazon during their lightning sale, May 6-8. Pressure washer is selling on eBay at Rs 4,444 but with discounts you can still get it for 3599 with free shipping.

Chromecast was from greendust, its a factory seconds unit, fortunately mine was one of the returned pieces, not refurbished, its working fine as well

Some really nice deals there SunnyBoi.. but been there, done that. Remember running up bills in the region of 40k in last years Amazon Sale. This time 'only' bought books. Saved a lot

Only question - Did you need all of those, or you bought them because you thought the deals were fab?

To be honest I dont need any of these just bought them because they were an excellent deal. Fellow TBHPians have staked claimed on the router, car charger and chromecast, I'll be letting go of these very soon
