Re: The Online Shopping Thread

PayTM & GATI logistics are giving me a bad experience. I'd ordered for a product on 17th January.

Firstly they couldn't get the seller to ship it on time & that delayed the delivery. The tracking too didn't work for the first 5 days.

Now, the documentation for my order is missing after it reached Bangalore! Q)Should I contact GATI directly ?

Yesterday I DM'd them on twitter requesting an update. No reply till today, so I sent another DM early this afternoon. Nothing till a few minutes ago where they say they'll escalate & update soon.

It was a carefully chosen product & sadly I know their usual attitude to remorselessly refund for orders that are not delivered.

Any suggestions ?

Re: The Online Shopping Thread

GATI being a courier their job is not to enquire into the contents of a packet but to deliver whatever is sent to them from the shipper to the consignee. I am not sure what they can do to deliver it to you if the shipper doesn't send it to them on time.

Your beef is with paytm, or if there was a 3rd party seller on paytm it is with that seller.

Came across this piece of news about FabFurnish - German investor Rocket Internet may close down FabFurnish.

Had done a few purchases about a year back from here, and had found the experience satisfactory.

Yeah, mis-typed my post. My twitter DM's yesterday & today were to PayTM only.

They've told they'll escalate & update. *fingers crossed*.

Tried simply calling GATI this evening ~8pm , strangely, didn't connect!

Is it necessary to preserve the physical bills for warranty claims ?

Yes, of course. In online purchases, sellers don't sign or put stamp on warranty card of products. So a computerised bill is necessary for warranty claims.

I had used them earlier thinking I will get back additional 5-10% cashback because of going through their site. I made 3 transactions. 1st was pending & then they cancelled it after some 2-3 months citing some vague reason (which I dont remember now). 2nd order never got credited & finally they rejected the refund saying the purchase was navigated from their site and finally 3rd order was again rejected saying Paytm has refused the claim and that I have not navigated from their site. Going by my experience, I realised that they will never payout any cashbacks and stopped using them.

Re: The Online Shopping Thread

Thanks null. I sensed something wrong in their model. I just registered with basic details, never made a transaction. I dont think I will go ahead.

OK, I was concerned about saving the paper bill that comes with the shipment. I always used to dispose it with the box.

I noticed today that amazon has a paperless bill against every order, not sure about other sellers like Flipkart or Snapdeal though. So saving the paper bill isn't really necessary, at least for amazon. Wonder why they send a paper bill with the shipment though when the same is available online.

Flipkart does it for sure, they've even stopped providing return acknowledgments in paper format. Everything comes on registered email.

Possibly a regulatory shipping requirement?

I have been using them for more than a year without any major issues. It works. I have received more than 4000 in cashbacks. They are my first go-to point for any online shopping.

Yes, there can be hiccups sometimes but they are very rare and usually because you did not follow their instructions. Example - I had the items already in cart on Amazon which is a no-no.

Give them another chance and I am sure you will not regret it.

I was hooked on to these services by Paidkart when complaining about a Snapdeal order on Twitter.

Overall commission paid by Paidkart is slightly higher than Cashkaro so I haven't bothered to register on Cashkaro at all. I have received over 3000 in cashback so I rarely purchase online at full price these days.

Time taken for cashback realization is totally dependent on the portal you actually purchased from. Never had an issue with order tracking as long as you don't have items pre-added to the cart.

Just got an email from Aliexpress that the 5.6 USD dashcam seller was a fraud and his selling account has been suspended.

They have a 5 day window within which they would refund the amount.

Re: The Online Shopping Thread

Hi All,

A seller from ali shipped a package through Yun Express. The number is YT16004900******. How do I track if it is within India? Can I track through IndiaPost by giving this identical tracking number?
