Effect of Recession on our Jobs

Recession is clearly around the corner and the rumor is that its gonna be a lot worse than last time...Have heard through reliable sources that 28-35% headcount reduction is being proposed in major Networking & Telecom Companies.

Didnt citi just annouce to cut 4500 job globally? Bofa is cutting 30K jobs (or have already cut?) StanChart buying more than half of Barclays card business would mean some job losses at Barclays too?
