I do NOT have any particular preferences. But, I would like the perfume to last for a day(8 - 10 hours), in Indian weather conditions. Pl. suggest.

There is a very fine line between a perfume lasting all day and the perfume becoming cloying for people around you due to its nature. So be careful while selecting it.

My perfume when I am unable to decide, is Davidoff Coolwater. It can work in any sort of setting.
But just don't buy a strong perfume which is suited for winter/night time wear and use it during office hours. People around you will absolutely detest you.

Good luck though because it can be a very very tedious chore to select one!

I would say go for something musky. It has a higher chance of fighting against the odours on Indian soil. Personally I think something that would be right is Gucci Guilty or Guilty Black which should be available in your budget.

If you don't mind a bit of Oud in the mix for a really unique fragrance then Roberto Cavalli Tiger Oud is amazing. One of the longest lasting fragrance that I've used. However, it is a bit on the expensive side. Another advantage is that it is unisex so if you have a better half, she can use it as well.

If you want something cool but that still lasts pretty long, you can take a look at Mont Blanc Legend.

Thank You! But, all the suggestions are 'Eau de Toilette' sprays.

I am looking for 'Eau de Parfum' sprays.

Sorry missed out that portion. Tiger Oud is available as EDP.

You can also check out 1 Million by Paco Rabanne and Oud Noir from Versace. Both are musky scents.

Try Skinn from Titan. It's a quality product. They are EDP and you don't have to worry about them being ersatz.

latest addition to collection is Platinum Egoiste from Chanel.
i had really liked it when i tested it few years earlier but now i don't think i like it so much wearing it. especially compared to other spicy EDTs in the the collection like Boucheron Jaipr, YSL Opium or even the sweet-spicy ones like Burberry London.

Dunhill Icon or Terre de Hermes. Both stay for more than 8 hours. I could smell "Terre" on my arm even after 11 hours.
Gifted Dunhill Icon to my uncle. They were priced around 5k a few months ago.

Whats your recommendation for summer apart from the aqua - Davidoff Coolwater variety?
What kind of scent or characteristic should be kept in mind?

For summers, the fragrance must be either of clean, fresh, aquatic, floral, fruity, airy, citrusy, oceanic that give an uplifting and a cool feel. Fragrances not preferable for summer will be spicy, hot, too woody, animalic, and beastly.

I have Issey Miyake L'eau D'Issey Pour Homme (original/classic version) in my collection.

It is a citrusy juice with the Japanese yuzu citrus fruit. It is clean and fresh, with a dash of the oceanic vibe. It has good longevity, and decent projection and sillage. A multipurpose fragrance, suitable for office as well as outdoors, for all age groups, and for most occasions such as work or dating, but not for a party animal. For office, go easy on the trigger with just 2/3 sprays.

As far as seasons go, L'eau D'Issey Pour Homme is a good summer fragrance.

I concur with everything that murillo has suggested. Considering the extreme summers in our country, these are actually the best options.
However some of the mild spicy frangrances with the right ingredients do actually work very well in the summers too.

One such perfume for instance is The One by Dolce and Gabbana. I use it in the summers as well, although not very frequently.

My frequent go to summer fragrances are -
1. Acqua di Gio by Giorgio Armani
2. Light blue by D&G
3. Coolwater Davidoff
4. Le male by jean paul gautier
5. The One by D&G
6. Bvlgari Aqva
7. Ferrari Black Shine

In this list Le Male, The One and Coolwater are the ones which contain just that hint of spicy fragrance which can be quite refreshing sometimes. Light Blue is a recent acquisition and I absolutely love it.
Acqua di gio is the citrusy fresh kind, bitter and fresh!
Bvlgari aqva is the pure oceanic fragrance and Ferrari is also fresh and clear kinds.

Personal opinion, all Ferrari perfumes suck, like big time!

Ended up getting Burberry's London, I think it was for around 5k but my wife liked it way too much for me to not consider it. Its woodish n leatherish and that's something I can personally wear anywhere so got it.
