Yes I have not watched anything on the big screen since Gulal in 3/2009. Last week had planned to watch `Dasavatar' but saved money because of some good advice here. Cannot even watch `Watchmen' because it is too violent and is `A' rated (cannot take my son along).

Dhoonte Reh Jaaoge.

Kunal Khemu is an awesome actor. Atleast that is how he appears when he is standing next to Soha.
This movie is based on two guys Kunal Khemu and Paresh Rawal raising 5 crores from each of the 21 financiers they plan to cheat. Cheat not exactly.
The financiers don't know about eachother and the plan is 50-50 of the profits the movie makes.
Of course the movie is budgeted at 5 crores and will be a flop.
So they get to pocket 100 crores.

I can only wonder if this is the plan on which this movie itself was made.

Its beyond sad.

AAMIR

The Hindi Movies Thread-aamir200811_1213015655_large.jpg

There are some movies which leave you thinking once you've watched them, and Aamir falls into this category.

Aamir Ali (Rajeev Khandelwal) plays the role of a NRI return who soon upon arrival gets drawn unwillingly into the clutches of terrorism that seeks to disrupt the very lifeline of brotherhood.

There are some questions left unanswered, such as why was he targetted, and the extent to which he was made to suffer through the process, when the perperator could easily have made do with other options.

However, what is definietly beyond question is the way the story has been adapted into the screenplay, leaving you with edge of the seat suspense. Camerawork and background music serve the cause of setting the spine-chilling effect.

Rajeev Khandelwal displays a myriad of emotions from the hunted to the modern day Indian who feels that each one creates his own destiny, and one's "qaum" is not the factor which governs it. A brilliant debut, i must say.

Bennyboy Rating : ****

It's unbielevable, Hyderabad is flooded with old movies. Here are some of the old movies currently playing in popular theatres :

No Entry
Dilwale Dulhaniya Lejange
Darr
Gadar

And, these poor theatre fellas may not be aware that all above movies are shown to death on cable

Looks like we may have to wait for some more time for new releases. Till then, Bigflix Zindabad !!!

Saw 99 last evening. Missed the first 15 minutes. The movie is a light comedy with some Golmaal going on. Its based in the 1997-2000 era when the Cricket betting & fixing was very common. The film has this as base

Mahesh Manjerkar's Dialogues are quite funny.
Cyrus Broacha has very few lines he is supposed to be Pehlwaan types but doesnt look like(he looks fat as opposed to muscular).
Kunal Khemu is good in the movie & looks promising.
Soha looks cute & thats about it.
Boman Irani as always is good & has slightly different role.
Vinod Khanna still looks dashing & I hope that we get to see more of him on the screen.

So a light movie to freshen up the weekend

Overall 3/5

Jugaad.

The Hindi Movies Thread-wall_800x600_1.jpg

Starring Manoj Bajpai.

The movie is actually very decent. Not bad.

The story revolves around the land ceiling comedy that was sponsored by the Delhi Government last year. Manoj Bajpai runs a successful firm. He had created it with another friend and its now worth a couple of crores.
One fine day there is police at the door step and the put a seal on the office.
The property is commercial in a residential area.

The movie is about how they tackle the corrupt commisioner Govind Namdeo in a double role.

The twists and turns are ok.
The final ending is a genuine twist.

The movie has very low production value. and it shows.

More like a drama series on DD than an actual movie.

However its not bad.
