Oh absolutely. As you will see, I actually find the translated subtitles hilarious, it may not be that funny in the actual tamil language.

Come nitrous, I know you're a big fan and in a way, so am I. Relax. It's just entertainment. I'm really not cooking it up, I'm relating the movie from a non-tamil perspective, from someone who merely understands the subtitles.

Come, laugh with me.

Very true. I had once seen the movie National Treasure on a DVD with sub titles and it was really hilarious.
As Sam said, we are just enjoying the funny subtitles, thats all .
Nitrous anna, we are all big fans of Rajni and even more so for the down to earth person he is. He is one of the biggest superstars of the country and no one can dispute that.

S-t-y-l-e!!

Give me one time style yeah!
Give me two time style yeah!
Give me three time style yeah!

Thankfully the lyrics change here.

Here's what they change to.
A YetiŽ POV - A funny look at Sivaji with Subtitles-picture-32_l.jpg

A YetiŽ POV - A funny look at Sivaji with Subtitles-picture-33_l.jpg
That is really awesome, lol

A YetiŽ POV - A funny look at Sivaji with Subtitles-picture-34_l.jpg
Oh really?
A YetiŽ POV - A funny look at Sivaji with Subtitles-picture-35_l.jpg

Well, that's not new, really. Have you met our friend and fellow Team-BHPian Thad E. Ginathom?

The lyrics go on to say

A pot of moonlight
A pot of sunlight

A YetiŽ POV - A funny look at Sivaji with Subtitles-picture-36_l.jpg

Texture indeed.

The make-up people in this movie have done an incredible job. Our hero changes from person to person even within the song, nevermind the whole movie!

Next he becomes a biker par extraordinaire.

A YetiŽ POV - A funny look at Sivaji with Subtitles-picture-37_l.jpg

What will you have me do, my fair lady?
A YetiŽ POV - A funny look at Sivaji with Subtitles-picture-38_l.jpg
Make a fuss? How do I make a fuss?

A YetiŽ POV - A funny look at Sivaji with Subtitles-picture-39_l.jpg
Startle you? But if you want me to startle you, this means that you already know I'm going to startle you and then you won't be startled!

A YetiŽ POV - A funny look at Sivaji with Subtitles-picture-40_l.jpg
Oh I see. How extraordinary.

A YetiŽ POV - A funny look at Sivaji with Subtitles-picture-41_l.jpg
Do I get some fries on the side oh dark lady?

The song continues.

. Great work! You should have been the subtitles writer!

P.S.: Request other members to refrain from digressing towards making statements like "Tamil movies crack me up" or the like. We don't want to offend our Tamil Thambis. And some of their movies are great too!

P.P.S: Never, NEVER, offend the God. Rajni.

lol. there was no need for a new subtitle writer. I think the subtitle writers tried hard, but the humour got a little twisted between Tamil and English.

Actually this is the first Tamil movie I have seen.

As far as Rajinikanth is concerned, I have decided to see as many Tamil movies of him as I can. Believe it or not, I may be relating the funny subtitling, but as N_C said, I am truly a convert and a Rajinikanth fan now.

A YetiŽ POV - A funny look at Sivaji with Subtitles-picture-42_l.jpg
Good Golly, Miss Molly! 5 foot is not very tall!

A YetiŽ POV - A funny look at Sivaji with Subtitles-picture-43_l.jpg
Is that what you meant when you looked and me and said U! F-O!

A YetiŽ POV - A funny look at Sivaji with Subtitles-picture-44_l.jpg
Now see what you've done. People will queue up around my legs to climb up for the view!

A YetiŽ POV - A funny look at Sivaji with Subtitles-picture-45_l.jpg

A YetiŽ POV - A funny look at Sivaji with Subtitles-picture-46_l.jpg
And that is truly awesome.

A YetiŽ POV - A funny look at Sivaji with Subtitles-picture-47_l.jpg
Go suck an egg Nick!

And thus ends the song. To say it was extraordinary would be an understatement.

The End. (of this song)

I shall continue with the next song later.

Long Live Rajni. Long Live Rajni fans
No matter how much you try, you can never hate a Rajni film, if you are open minded. His histrionics is too good and if you need to be entertained, it must be a Rajni film.
I am a hardcore Rajni fan and as rightly said, Rajni is a religion here.

This is awesome. Good eye for the details Sam. Had a good laugh. From now on the hunt is on for Rajni movies with Yinglish sub titles. Guys just enjoy the humor of the subtitles. I'm sure no harm is meant to Rajni's aura or to his fans. bTW Rajni has a great fan following in Japan.

Have also seen him in person. Used to visit our landlord very often in a cream contessa those days. A very down to earth, genteel religious guy.

Great going Sam!
Rajnikanth is quite a phenomenon and I have tried, unsuccessfully, to figure out the reason for his huge fanbase.
At the end, you are finally bowled over by his charisma on screen and humility off it.
And that is the reason I, a Bengali from Blr am now a Rajni fan.
I do not see any reason for anyone to take offence.
Keep 'em coming Sam!
