I would also add Timex to the list. He can easily get a nice Seiko/Citizen ~ 25K range.

Re: Which watch do you own?

This Seiko is quite old but running beautifully.

Which watch do you own?-img_20220407_222934.jpg

It was gifted to my father in 1986. He gave it to me in 1993. Since then, it has been serving me. A couple of years back, it stopped working. Got it cleaned and it is working.

I am just amazed at the engineering marvel from Japan. 36 years and counting. Truly automatic.

Re: Which watch do you own?

Seiko 5 has been the flagship of Seiko watches with Automatic movement till the cheap Quartz took over the market. At the same time automatic movement of Orient watches was also equally good.

Yes that is true. I got my first Seiko 5 way back in late 60's. There after I had a couple of more, each good enough for 10+ years without any service.

Got it on amazon, brand named fullmosa. Wouldn’t recommend though as the quick release pin bent on second change. Back to metal band for now

Re: Which watch do you own?

Presenting the Orient Sun and Moon v3 and the Invicta Pro Diver.

Had a relative visit from the US. So, with my limited budget, I got my hands on these beauties. The original plan was to get just the Orient, but the Invicta was available for a steal on Amazon, so I couldn’t resist.

Is there any AD for Hamilton watches in Bangalore? Really old the Intramatic chronograph H. Wanna have a look at it. Ethos doesn't seem to be the AD

To my knowledge, Hamilton does not have any official presence in India and there are no ADs.

Re: Which watch do you own?

Guys, I have a question Rolex Oyster Perpetuals. I understand the grey market prices are astronomical but if you manage to get one from an AD (say Kapoor watch), do they also charge a premium of some sort? Or will they charge the normal MRP? I am assuming no discounts will be there.

There are absolutely no discounts, but they will only charge the listed price. I just bought one from Ethos a few months ago, after almost 1.5 years of following up.

Yes I saw your post. Congratulations. I really like the Tiffany blue and yellow dials. But I am not hopeful about getting one. But will give it a try.

Re: Which watch do you own?

Guys a generic question. How much does a battery in a tissot chronograph last ? Also is it safe to replace the battery at a non authorised watch shop because I live in a tier 2 city where there is no tissot showroom and ethos has stopped changing batteries due to non availability of technician.

No idea of this particular model, but most of the batteries used in high end watches cost between 200 and 400 in normal shops. My son's Tag battery is in the same range and it lasts at least 3 years.

At authorised service centre the costs are bit higher - 500-800 but then they normally change the gasket (advisable every time you open the back)
