re: Which watch do you own?

Did you get this off Ebay by any chance? There are a few older pieces being sold there under the tag of 'vintage' but i am not entirely sure on if genuine or not. Some are available for as low as 3000 which i am happy to spend but i simply do not know anyone who has bought a watch off ebay.

Mayank, what's the type of movement you are looking for? Quartz, Hand wound or Automatic? Seiko is one brand I have deep respect in that price range and well below that. Except hand wound, you can get both quartz and automatic Seikos. Other brands in that price range are Tissot (quartz), Xylys(quartz and automatic), Citizen (eco-drive). Except Citizen, I have models of all the mentioned brands and Seiko wins hands down.

I won't touch vintages on ebay with a long barge pole. I know the examples you are talking about. They are all in pathetic conditions. Your cost of overhauling, servicing, refurbishing will be more than the cost of the purchase itself. I bought this bell-matic from a vintage shop in Avenue road. And I did dig some info on that watch - Its a 1976 model, the movement has been refurbished and the dial has been touched. Considering this, I think I got a great example. This has been a daily wearer this whole week and has kept pretty good time for a vintage.

I am a fan of Casios, especially the G-shocks, and like the looks of what has become the unofficial TBHP watch nowadays, the edifice.
Seikos, you say?
What about TAGs?

Like Styler writes in his post, Casios are all about functionality. For me watches are all about aesthetics and style and so I don't think I'll own a Casio in future. I personally feel they are little too big and look more like gadgets than watches (except the edifice which has a typical chrono look).

Tags will be more than INR 50K atleast (entry level Formula 1 range).

Me too. I have already bought 2 Casio's in the last 2 years. Hope to add more of them as and when I like a particular model.

I dream to own a Tag Huer and can afford to buy one but, just not able to take the plunge and plonk that kind of money (> 50K) on a watch so living with its poor cousin ( Edifice)

Thinking of getting this Edifice :

http://www.watchkart.com/casio-edifi...v-watches.html

Any feedback on the model?

Its available for 9,896/- on Watchkart.com , and when i checked the same model in Central, its 10995/-.

And i would like to get a feedback on Watchkart.com as well, as i have never interacted with them before.

While I post a picture of my watches later, PFA an image taken from the net of one of my watches.

Don't know about this model specifically, but its a Casio. So I don't think you should worry about the quality, as long as you like the styling. Watchkart/Healthkart, etc, have a good reputation, so that should be fine too. Do compare prices though.

re: Which watch do you own?

Just can't imagine how I missed this thread. Joined T-BHP 4 years back and how could I miss this. Saw this on Firday and spent almost whole day in going through all pages.
Good to see so many like minded people on the forum.

Heres my story of the watches.
First one is the Titan. Don't know the series. This watch is very special as I bought it with the first money I ever earned. I think 1200 Rs Stipend I earned spent straight on this watch in 1999. Originaly it came with nice brown leather strap later on replaced with metal strap currently seen. I used this regularly for almost 7 years before the Citizen came in. Still works fine and jsut requires a battery change.
Which watch do you own?-titan.jpg

Second is the Titan Edge that I received as a long service award. Just love the simplicity of the watch.

Which watch do you own?-titan-edge2.jpg
Question - Is this really the slimest watch in the universe?

Third is the all black Kenneth Cole Reaction. This was a spontanous purchase. Just loved the all black look and the green numerals on black background. Also has a green backlight if required.

Fourth is a Rado Florence. This was a gift.

Fifth and final that I regularly use is the Citizen Eco Drive Calibre 8700. Again this was a spontanous purchase. Had gone to watch Tokyo Drift and me and my friend purchased one each of these after the movie.

And heres the group photo of all together.

Have been fond of watches for quict a long time. I have saved a lot of special editions that used to feature in Economic Times long time back. Also have a 2001 Chirstie's Important watches collection catalogue. It has some breath taking collection that I keep dooling on.

I own a Casio Edifice (121D-1AV). It was a gift from my wife on my birthday. I like the dual display analogue and digital.
