You guys really need to watch the documentary "Truth in 24".

Freely downloadable off iTunes in HD and standard. It is about the Audi racing team and the 24 hours of lemans race. Jason Statham narrates. Same guy in the Transporter movies. Amazing stuff! I watch it everytime i want to feel inspired :)

we find it very hard in Indian film industry who is interested in making a movie totally related to automobiles. Even though there are millions of admirers who are eagerly waiting for such movies. i have taken a step to make such movies in future. here i am posting a trailer video of the short movie i am making. i need your encouragement, comments by heart, be it negative or positive. :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=M6jeM8eISrI

#06 --> Gran Torino.

This is the Clint Eastwood movie? Except for the name & stationary car, there is not a single shot in which the car is driven IIRC.

Still a nice movie & I was excepting more of car scenes. please:

Just read the reviews for the movie "Vanishing Point", sounds interesting. Need to lay my hands on the movie's VCD/DVD.

Just done watching the same and must I tell you it was A WASTE OF MY TIME!
:Frustrati

The movie is great, the car chase, the music, it's all great. But the end is one major let down. The way the excitement builds up throughout the movie is snapped off like a cord in the last 2 minutes! Seriously, what a disappointment! :deadhorse

3/10 for the deal breaker! Could have easily scored a handsome 8/10.

Thanks for that review MARCUS_520i ! Maybe shall watch it some other time when i am extremely bored.

Rohan you hit the spot with all my favorites. But my No. 1 remains Ronin for the car soundtrack - intense and sublime on a half decent home theatre.

My favorite car movies, in no particular order, are:

1. Gone in 60 seconds
2. The Italian Job
3. The transporter
4. Motorcycle diaries (If I'm allowed a movie based on a bike)
5. The world's fastest Indian (If I'm allowed a movie based on a bike)

1. Gone in 60 Seconds off course :the last chase scene was pure adrenaline
2. XXX
3. Terminator
4. Senna

It's pretty late - just watched the clip! But not sure what should I say! Am sure if other bhpians see this, you are in for an earful! :D

Yesterday was a great TV weekend - The Chinese F1 GP + Clint Eastwood's 'Gran Tourino'.
Have been meaning to see it for over two yrs. Picked up the DVD about 6 months ago and finally gave it a twirl yesterday. Though this flick wouldn't exactly fall under the 'car movie' genre the fact that main protagonist is an ex ford employee\Korean war veteran is an integral part of the plot. And yes he own an old ford pick up truck and an immaculately maintained 72' Gran Torino to which he has some personal connection. Wouldnt want to give away more. This is one of those 'guy' movies as far as im concerned - though my better half enjoyed the film, which did surprise me. Me - I loved it for its multiple themes - family, ethnic divides, growing old in an alien world, violence, hope...
For all you folks that enjoyed Clint eastwoods past directorial gems such as Mystic river & the million dollar baby - this one is a must watch.
