2.HERBIE series - How can one forget the cute BUG
3.DAYS of THUNDER - Starring Tom Cruise and Nicole kidman
4.MAD MAX - Mel Gibson starrer which features the Australian FORD falcon
If you guys have not watched any of the above movies, please do so over the weekend. You will not regret it

Best car chases in Movies: Ronin, Italian Job 1969: modern version can't hold a candle to the original, especially the title tune; the French Connection.

The best car movie has to be this short "Cétait un Rendez-vous".
YouTube - C_était un Rendez-vous.flv

the best :
ronin (stock M5 chased by peugeot)
bourne supremacy (stock russian volga taxi chased by mercedes )
vanishing point (dodge challenger just flying all over)
bullitt (dodge charger chased by ford mustang)

the average :
cars (cartoon comedy)
death race

the worst :
F&F series (there are gizmos but there is no "life" to the cars or the race sequences, even "casino royale" put an aston to better use, even if a brief shot)

1) Transporter
2) Transporter -2
3) Transporter -3
4) Gone in 60 seconds
5) Cars (Animated)

Most favorite scenes:
1) Trinity first in the car and then on the bike - Matrix reloaded AMAZING is the onyl word!
2) Nicolas Cage ripping apart in his Mustang (IIRC) - Gone in 60 seconds
3) All scenes from all Transporters

Irrelevant here but keeping apart the best car pics I've seen, Fast 5 is a big dissappointment and a far cry from the original one that too starred Vin Diesel.

Vanishing point has to top my list....followed by Casino Royale and the Quantum of Solace.....special brownie points for the FnF Tokyo Drift...and an honorary mention to CARS.

Anyone seen 'The Car' ? Though I saw it very long ago, the (spooky) memories still linger on.

If anyone has missed "TAXI" (French) i would suggest it. Part 1 & 2. 3&4 are boring.

1. Cars
2. Ronin
3. Italian job
4. French connection
5. Gone in 60 seconds

The one and only movie: Death Proof!

fast n furious1
gone in 60secs
italian job
transporter

there is this car chase in the movie From Paris With Love. the car is an Audi.

Oh yes, sometime in 1989, in Bangalore. Never managed to sit through the whole movie. My friend and me walked out midway! It doesn't even qualify for that 5.4 IMDB rating.

How about The Duel?

Fantastic film. I have it on DVD. I remember watching it on VHS in my school days and get really, really scared. That horn!

Since then I have seen it plenty of times. Still manages to leave a spooky, eerie feeling when the film is over. They teased of a possible sequel in the end credits, but too bad that never got made.

Ohh, too bad you didn't like The Car. I would suggest giving it another shot and this time, watch the whole film. You will definitely be impressed.

And I love Duel! Spielberg's classic tale of the car driver being terrorised by that unseen maniac in the tanker. What a great little low-budget film that was.

The James Bond films have showcased plenty of cars since the "Goldfinger" days (who can forget that amazing silver Aston Martin!).

Highlight films - The Spy Who Loved Me, Die Another Day, Goldfinger, Diamonds Are Forever, and above all, that brilliant chase sequence in The Man With The Golden Gun, culminating with one of the most amazing car flip jumps (across the broken bridge) ever recorded in movie-history!

Among others, Christine. Although the Stephen King book is much better, the film manages to pull in a lot of nervy and horrific atmosphere by itself. Vanishing Point is an all-time classic, so is The Italian Job (original 60s one with Michael Caine).

For chase sequences, look no further than Bullitt and The French Connection. Two of the best ever made, period. Terminator 2: Judgement Day, Ronin and Matrix: Reloaded had some really fabulous chase sequences too.

John Frankenheimer's Grand Prix. Recommended by me. Another is Smokey and the Bandit.

Nic Cage's Gone In 60 Seconds is another good one. The Transporter series had some good cars showcased.

Another little favorite of mine has been the Beetle named "Herbie" in the Disney films of the 60s - The Love Bug, Herbie Rides Again, Herbie Goes To Monte Carlo, Herbie Goes Bananas. The recent one with Lindsay Lohan in the lead was a real letdown, though.

Cannonball Run I & II. Totally goofy comedies but very enjoyable.

Will think of more later.
