Yeah it was Salman Butt. The catch was not all that easy but still it was a dropped chance. He mistimed his jump which is a very common occurance when you are standing that close to the bat (he was at silly mid off) and someone mi****s the ball. You always think that it is coming faster than it actually is. Same thing happened. When the ball reached him he was on his way down from the jump (that gravity thing I tell you is such a #$%#@).

What did surprise was, as Nitin pointed out, the silly stupid grin! Aw come on you just dropped someone, bury your face in your palms, dig a hole and stick your head in it, close your eyes, I mean do something but at least do not smile man!

Edit: Even if you type mi$hit it will do a **** on the $hit part!

Hey, common man, they were enjoying the game (Its dhoni's team). Hence there was a grin. Hope our captain should have told couple of words after his grin tough.

If Salman Butt had stuck around,it would have been an easy victory for them. Its sheer luck that he got out,and with Misbah back in the pavillion, things turned in favor of the Indians.

Any idea how the pitch is at Gwalior? Think its a dry pitch, and works well for the pace attack. I'd like to see Praveen Kumar play..seems quite promising.

Is the match today a day and night affair?

Kumble as captain - I don't agree here. I am not disputing the fact that he DESERVES it but I don't think giving him the captaincy at a stage of his career where he is on the verge of going out is a good idea.

And against Australia we need a tougher captain who can get under the skin of the Aussies and for that SAURAV is the best bet.

And we better appoint MSD as vice-captain asap.

I think he's already been appointed VC for the Test series.

Kumble as captain...

KUMBLE as CAPTAIN

I dont think, he is superior in this area than sourav or any other team mates. I think BCCI honouring him by giving captainship. So that in future PINK papers will write as "FORMER INDIA TEST CAPTAIN" anil kumble retired from test cricket or somethink like "FORMER INDIA TEST CAPTAIN" anil kumble appointed as bowling coach... "Its just honour"

Lets see how the Indians fare in Australia. There'll be enough of fireworks with the usual Symmonds-Bajji circuit..And apparently the Australians will give the Indians a bonus of what the Indian crowd had to offer.

I saw that - earlier BCCI used to not appoint VC's for home matches - I really don't understand why !

With so many ex-captains in the team they would probably have thought that there is no need

It will be a real tester of a series. If India can play as well as they did last time around I will be happy.

Cant wait for it to begin!

Man who has seen from close warns India old and selfish, says former coach Greg Chappell | Herald Sun

"MANY of India's cricket superstars are well past their best and need to be replaced by fresh faces for the coming tour of Australia, former coach Greg Chappell has warned."

I think this guy saw just too much for his own good. He should now keep his trap shut and seal it with fevicol or something.

Man! He is such a complainer isn't he?

Whatever, no dispute on his cricketing skills. May be his 'Australian Way' is not liked by Indians . Indians want 'Indian Way'. One example of Indian way is to forward private email to the media.
