More on Chappell Welcome to rediff.com: Greg Chappell takes fresh guard
Quote:
President of the Rajasthan Cricket Association Lalit Modi had a dream -- to create, in Rajasthan, a state of the art cricket academy. That dream found a sponsor in the Future Group, and a frontman when former Indian coach Greg Chappell signed on to conceptualize, and head, the program.

The Future Cricket Academy, cited within the Sawai Man Singh Stadium in Jaipur, will be officially inaugurated November 16.
Last time Rajasthan was in news in Ranji Trophy was in 1973-74 season, where they were runners-up. Will Greg Chappell bring back the glory to Rajasthan?

But none of the present lot will be able to fair better in the longer version of game. They will do well in bang-bang things. 5 day games requires the skills and talent to stay at the wicket.

Match 4, ON. Pak won the toss & are batting. India are back to their losing combination - Sehwag in for Murali Karthik . May be 15 Nov 2007 belongs to Sehwag .

India will win. Pak has already lost Salman Butt very early..2nd ball of match. But there are others, we can expect a total of around 250 for pakis.

Why GC, who has been there & done that, feel fresh faces is the way to go for India?

Doesn't he have faith in the Fab?
Does he have unwarranted faith in the youngsters?

Even better, if Dhoni has held the catch of Younis.

Lets wait and see who well we fare under the lights (hopefully they put a score in the range of 275+ and India win chasing it )

Anybody seeing the match? Why are the Pakistani's scoring so slowly? Ghosts in the pitch?

Sehwag never had any problems in Tests. His figures in Test are:
Matches 52
Runs 4155
Highest 309 (only Indian above 300 mark)
Avg 49.46 (impressive for an opening batsman)
100s 12
50s 12
Wickets 14
He was dropped from Test team due to his ODI form.

Dravid scored 121 in today's Ranji match against HP.

Last heard..the dew can play a very important part in the match! India is lucky as we are chasing..Problem is also that the ball softens and might be difficult to HIT it out of the park..with Veeru and Uthappa who want to belt it out rather than playing for the ball to come to the bat. Anything above 250 is a bit difficult

This is paki's match. How else could they up the stakes for the final match ?

India could restrict Pak below 225. Let's see how we fare.

I pray not to go for cautious start and loose wickets in the process

250 is more like it. I mean it would be fun to see the vaunted Indian batting order chase a decentish score on a tough track!
