Re: The Cricket Thread

With the ball rising nose high its very difficult to protect tailenders by trying to sneak singles.
Not like the sub continent at all

there was nothing that sachin could have done differently without risking his own wicket

Re: The Cricket Thread

Where would you want to put your money ? It is very difficult to say right now ? I think SA will pull this one off.

In my pocket
If MSD and VVS take the lead past 250, then SA will be tested.

Re: The Cricket Thread

Anyone watching ? Has the pitch flattened out ? In that case, 300 is not going to be enough.

Re: The Cricket Thread

The pitch is playing good with some juice still left, but not unplayable. But the interesting fact is no team ever chased any score above 200 since 1990, except for one occassion in 2002 when south africa scored 340 in fourth innings. And the second highest chase since 1990 was 153 in 1994, again by south africa against kiwis

Re: The Cricket Thread

I think SA is going to make it, going by the looks of it. When I see Amla walking in, I almost hope the openers had not gotten out. There's such a look of inevitability about him..

Cheers,

My heart says India, but looking at the score 70/1 in 13 overs, I think SA will make it

3 wickets down. Only if kallis wasnt drop it would be four.
I still feel India will win tommorow.

Re: The Cricket Thread

My guess is that SA will win but it will be a close match. India need at least 2 wickets as soon as play starts to stay in the game!

... and I heard Sreeshanth is in the news again!

Re: The Cricket Thread

What a win by England. You certainly deserved to Win the ASHES.
Ricky Ponting set to loose his captaincy. Ther's a saying " ANYTHING WHICH GOES UP HAS TO COME DOWN", it definetely suits Australia now, going down n down.
What has gone wrong with Aussies ? ( The Team ? / The Attitude ? )

Re: The Cricket Thread

Team enterily. You cannot replace Hayden, Langer, Warne, McGrath etc and not go through a transition phase.

But they havent fared that poorly compared to the West Indies.
That team in the Seventies was magnificent. Look where WI are now. NOWHERE.

Re: The Cricket Thread

England retain the Ashes and that too in Austrailia. You should see the arrogance-less face of Punter on Rediff. What a sight.

Re: The Cricket Thread

SA=149/6
Writing is on the wall.

Though am no big fan of england i love seeing OZ beating
However england deserved to win and Ponting should have been removed way back.
Clarke may get the job now.
