LTF.
When RBI had enforced restrictions on issuance new credit card, HDFC had given LTF Infinia in 2021. My friend still has it. Even after renewal its LTF. Its plastic. But I feel Infinia is Infinia, whether its plastic or metal.

As of today, there is absolutely no chance of getting LTF is my understanding. I know people who are ready to pay for Infinia from first year, but still they are not getting it. HDFC is super cranky when it gets to Infinia.

There is a flip side of getting Infinia. When I had DCB, my annual spend was not more than 6-7 Lakh combined across all card. In my first year of Infinia, my spend was 14 Lakh. Now I only spend on Infinia. I am not sure if Infinia & craze to get points is making me spend more. I shifted to BLR from Pune around same time I got Infinia, so I believe change of city also plays factor in inflated cost of living.

Re: The Credit Card Thread

A query on Rupay CC. Is it possible to scan the UPI QR code & transfer, just with FaceID or Fingerprint, without entering the pin?

No. The Pin mandate is by the UPI platform, so there is no way the app can bypass it. UPI lite does not require a pin as mandated by the UPI platform.

When I use Imobile to scan a QR & pay via ICICI Coral Rupay CC I can just use my fingerprint and get the payment done. Not sure of other apps.

Ok. Looks like I was wrong on that. I use Paytm linked to IDFC bank Rupay CC, and can't do without a pin. Probably one can bypass the pin if the app and cc are from the same bank. Ironically IDFC mobile app is not enabled for Rupay CC option forcing me to use Paytm.

Edit: It's possible. Just linked my IDFC Rupay CC in my IDFC bank app. Will do a transaction later and let you know if pin can be bypassed.

But the fun part is Bonvoy card is based on Diners network , so don't know how it will solve your problem.
Tata Neu card is best taken under RuPay network.
Check if you can get Swiggy card.
But best of all would be if you can escalate and try to get an Infinia. It gives the same reward rate but is in Visa/Mastercard so it would solve your problem.

Even if you are going to continue with DCB or upgrading to Infinia, then enrol in Global Value Program for 1% cashback on forex transactions.
I have requested/pushed for Infinia; they will get back to me. But it does not look promising. I will be calling customer care to enable GVP today. Thank you.

As a solution, HDFC was offering me LTF Regalia as add on card to DCB. They mentioned that limit will be shared between Regalia and DCB. I firmly rejected the offer though. This was in 2022. They ultimately gave me FYF Infinia.
Thanks for the suggestions. I want an additional card just in situations where the DCB card is not accepted. I am looking for an LTF card which gives good domestic and international lounge access. I don't care for any other benefits like reward points, etc. Any suggestions?

Hello,
That’s quite true, a lot my colleagues are struggling to get hands on both DBC as well as Infinia even through their earnings are much more than the eligibility plus exceeds spending criteria’s in existing cards. The bank simply does not want to give these lately.
Thanks-

HDFC Tata Neu cards are good on their own. Visa variant may work for you since you are looking as backup for DCB. Ideally Rupay variant is better as it can be used with UPI too, but in terms of rest of the features they are similar. You will get one international lounge access per quarter. I guess if the bank is offering this to you already, make sure they give it LTF. It’s anyway offered as FYF for most.

Please check IDFC First Wealth.

It's on Visa Infinite platform, which is same as Infinia. It's LTF & provides 4 lounge access per quarter with very good lounge list. Additionally it provides spa access at few selected airports. I am yet to use it though.

It provides DreamFolks pass, which is an alternative to Priority Pass.

IDFC bank generally easily issue the card.

I was failing to see the value in the Platinum Reserve and got my card cancelled despite an impeccable spend and payment records.

I normally buy Amazon e-Gift Card from Amazon itself and you can buy for any denomination you need (till 10k). In your original message, you said, "The best way is to use the gyftr amex reward multiplier for these transactions", but I don't see any wording about the multiplier at the link. Are you referring to the Amex reward multiplier website? I don't see Gyftr listed there either. How do you get the rewards multiplied?

It says amex reward multiplier in both the URL and the logo on the top left of the page: https://www.gyftr.com/amexrewardmult...-gift-vouchers

Both the official reward multiplier on amex site and the one on gyftr https://www.gyftr.com/amexrewardmultiplier/ will multiply your regular rewards with the multiplier that applies to your card. Example: 5x for gold charge card

On gyftr amex reward multiplier link: https://www.gyftr.com/amexrewardmultiplier/ , you just need to buy something with an amex card and you will automatically be credited multiplied rewards for the transaction

I haven't tried on the official amex reward multiplier yet, but as I understand it, you will have to keep your cart empty on the 3rd party site, visit the 3rd party side (like flipkart) from the link on https://www.americanexpress.com/in/b...s-program.html and you will have to enter your card details in the process

If the same thing is available on gyftr amex reward multiplier, I'd buy it there instead because of the ease

So, if you have an amex card and want to buy an amazon pay gift card, it's best to do it through https://www.gyftr.com/amexrewardmult...-gift-vouchers

They wouldn't offer me LTF on Tata Neu or any other card and also they said that the application process would be offline as this would be a second card

I applied on-line for this card, provided the details, did the video KYC and the next day the card was generated . That was super quick.

Strange! I have both Infinia and Tata Neu. Applied for Tata Neu card from Tata Neu app and card approved and delivered in few days. Completely online process. May be the process is different if you go through bank directly.

Re: The Credit Card Thread

I have a query with regards to Infinia card:

If someone pays electricity / utility bills, does it get considered towards reward points and the spend milestones for fee waivers?
