My Two Cents - Get the Axis Atlas on a Card-2-Card Basis using your HDFC Infinia. It would fetch your more thab double the reward rate as compared to Infinia.

And on a Card-2-card basis, Axis will most likely match Credit Limit with Infinia upto ₹10 Lacs.

What is Card-2-Card? Never heard of it but assuming it is a bank issuing you a card based on some other card you hold. I've ben ask this several times at the airport where the banks put up kiosks asking people to take their cards.

I got a mail from them. They have got a list of cities and you need to be a resident or have an office in one of them. Something similar to Amex.

https://www.aurumcreditcard.com
It appears to be a decent card though not as good as the Infinia. It does not have a Visa or Mastercard Logo on it though the website mentions that you have the option of Visa or Mastercard.
My wife got a LTF Aurum from IIMB during her college year. Its a very good card, especially for movie bookings on BMS, flat 250 off per ticket(max 4 pm) no questions asked. Although it failed on us on international lounge in Dubai International.. Apparently it needs a dreamfolks card, but my wife never received it.

Just another reason to hold the right set of Credit Cards at the right time.
Thinking on similar lines, I had made part payments of my car purchase a few months back through my Citi Premier Miles Card (which by then had converted to Axis).

Dealer quoted additional 1.5% extra for accepting Credit Card payments, which, to my mind, was better off considering 5% reward points.

However, surprisingly enough, out of the total swipes on different machines at the dealership, one of the machines had some odd MCC (Merchant Category) configured in it, which, the bank is denying to provide reward points for.

Although while swiping I had no way of knowing what MCC was configured on which machine (didnt even know about MCCs till then), I have lost out on some of the due benefits.

Suggest all to be careful while making such payments at the dealership.

Just curious, what was the impact of this on your CIBIL score? Since your credit utilisation would have gone high.

If it's a LTF card then it's fantastic. Even with say 50% off on joining or renewal it makes it worthwhile. Paying full price for joining and renewal is not really worth since you can get other cards with better features at this price.

Hahaha
Was in a similar situation 2 weeks ago at Dubai airport. My brother-in-law has an Aurum card.

The guy at the reception simply swiped his card and said that the card will be charged. We were confused. We too thought that it requires a separate DreamFolks card. I double confirmed with my brother-in-law if he has received any separate card. He replied in negative.

One thing to note is that this card has no mention of its provider, whether it is Visa or Mastercard or whatever.

Went back to the reception and asked him if there’s a separate card machine for DreamFolks. He said yes and got another machine. We were relieved. Phew!

However, that soon turned into a disappointment when the DreamFolks machine displayed an error that this card is not supported. Now we were double confused!

That’s where a simple Google, ooops… ChatGPT search showed that aurum doesn’t require to be swiped at the lounges. It’s got a dashboard kind of thing (although I’m not sure where, please check the sbi app or internet banking), where you can select an airport lounge and generate a QR code. We did that and the reception guy simply scanned it and allowed us the access.

As simple as that, as long as one knows how their card works. It was a funny situation for us.

I have been using Infinia for some time now and had applied for the Axis Atlas last month. I easily met all their criteria for Atlas. They collected all hard copies of my documents and did KYC in person. After waiting for a month I got a message saying that my application was rejected for "technical" reasons and I should apply again.
I don't want to go through the hassle again; so is there an easier way to apply and do the process on-line like it has been done for other cards? Or some kind of referral? Thanks.

Note: I don't have any account with Axis

Yes. The understanding is correct. It basically avoids the need of giving Income Proofs. Thats it. All other checks will remain as is.

I swiped Rs. 25,000. Waited for Points to be credited and had asked the Sales Advisor that I will swipe on the same machine for complete amount. No change to the machine. They didnt fuss over it.

Try checking with some Axis Credit Card Application person and tell him / her that you want to apply on a Card-2-Card Basis using your Infinia.

For domestic lounge access, a good debit card would suffice. SBI Signature or HDFC Preferred debit cards provide 2 domestic lounge access per quarter.

I had a LTF HDFC Diners Privilege credit card which had 2 international lounge access per quarter. This was insufficient on multi-hop flights.

Hahaha, no way..

Lets make the process as convoluted as possible and lets not mention this in a easily accessible place.
SBI Aurum stakeholders in their meetings probably.

Also, we found this section in the SBI app, but it was only showing Oslo international airport and nothing else. Some mess up on SBI's part and we lost out on Lounge access.

Had to pay out of pocket.

In my case, the points credit system is not real time. Its at the end of the month when the statement is generated.

Also the monthly statement does not clearly reflect which transactions earned rewards and which ones didn't. Its just that I had a broad mental calculation in this case (this being a big payment), and the points for the month were grossly lower.

Slowly all cards are removing free lounge access or blocking them behind minimum Monthly/Quarterly spend. I was surprised to see Bangalore T2 lounge near empty when I Visited it couple of weeks back.

Regalia Gold is a good card for fees of 2500 rupees as it gives you good amount of Domestic and International lounge access.

You can try Indusind Legend/Tiger. It's lounge list is getting increasingly restricted but with most banks adding spend limits few non-conditional ltf options remain.
