Thank you. I will mostly visit the nearby branch and get this done.

Had encountered a similar problem with ICICI bank debit card in the month of July.

Just raise a query on the iMobile application.
The refund process is time consuming and it took approximately 3 weeks for the amount to be credited in my account.

You definitely haven't evaluated the right set of Credit Cards.

Those are some amazing benefits. But then you are spending 25-30L a year. If I consolidate mspending on all my existing cards as well as wife's debit card I'll be spending 10-12 L per year.

The problem lies with people not evaluating things in detail and wanting Instant gratification (Cashback / Statement Credit).

Another problem being most people dont give enough importance and time to this topic as they dont understand most of the things. Card issuers specifically keep it complicated to ensure they stay ahead of the customers. This has given rise to a lot of new service providers, bloggers, Social Media Influencers explaining all these details.
This is something I really need to study.

I just had a word with HDFC. I have a Regalia which I use occasionally as my primary card is Union.
For the Infania the wanted me to do the following:
- 10 L FD (Since I'm a NRI).
- 7.5 L spending in the last 6 months on my Regalia (which I have not done)

They are not bothered about my salary and the card will be issued based on the FD. Which also means that the 10L is blocked as long as I have the card.
Regarding the 7.5 L spending, they said to submit the statements of my primary card (Union Bank) and they will consider basis that. Let's see what happens. I find it ridiculous that they are not considering salary as a criteria and instead asking for a FD. They have already taken a 2L FD for my Regalia.

I'm currently using 4 cards:
- HDFC Regalia
- ICICI Amazon Pay (Primarily for Amazon Purchases)
- Union Bank Signature
- SBI Platinum

If I get the Infania, I'll keep the Infania and Union Bank Cards.

Re: The Credit Card Thread

I have just taken a Home Loan from HDFC and they offered the HDFC Regalia Active Card with it free of charge for 3 years. I opted for the same and the card has been issued with a princely limit of ₹5000. The annual fees for the card are ₹2500+GST after 3 years. Is there any way to increase the limit to a decent amount?

If you have another HDFC card, the limit of the new card is set at 5000 for 2-3 days. Then, it will be shared with your other HDFC card.

Hi, thank you for the response.

Can you give me some pointers on how to raise this query? In the iMobile app, when I click on a particular transaction, there is a "Report Fraud" button. But I am sure this is not for reporting this particular problem. There is another option to "Raise a Dispute". But in this option, there is a declaration about confirming to block the card and raise a dispute.

Is there some other menu that I am missing?

Hi sir,
There are 2 methods to raise a complain :

1. You can select the drop down list on top left corner and raise a query through chat bot in the Contact us - iPal option, or

2. Select the option of services as appearing on home page and select raise a complain, this will re-direct you to the email link for sending a complain or there is an option of call as well.

Yes I have Indian Oil co branded HDFC card with a decent limit. I will activate the card and see if the limit is shared.

Just write to ICICI with proof (CC and UPI transaction receipts from resp. apps) that the same amount was paid twice to the same merchant within minutes of each other, and request a chargeback for the credit card transaction.

The bank will probably take a few days to verify, but you should get chargeback credit on your card statement.

Thank you folks. I have sent an email to the bank with details. Will wait and see what they respond.

Re: The Credit Card Thread

Need some guidance from the knowledgeable folks

Am trying to redeem some HDFC CC points for Amazon vouchers, earlier i could get a Rs 500 voucher for around 14xx points or so and Rs 1000 voucher for ~28xx points. Now i could see the same Rs 500 voucher is 5000 points and Rs 1000 voucher is 10000 points.

Is this by design? What are the other options available.

Which HDFC card do you have? Generally travel (Flights / hotels) provide the best ROI on points. Use the smartbuy portal to book them. You can utilize points for 70% of the cost. And you will earn points for the other 30% you pay using card.

Thanks Naetik for the suggestion, the current card is a Regalia Gold. I had an upcoming online purchase coming up and wanted to see if these points can be used for that. Also somehow on Smartbuy Rewards Catalog for vouchers the Amazon option is missing

Unless your points are expiring soon, I would not use them for voucher / statement credit. Look for travel opportunities (or) if you have significant points that are about to expire - you can transfer to Airline or hotel partners for later use. Look for transfer if you have points in multiples of 10k. Else not worth it.

The only time I used for voucher was when about 100000 points of mine were about to expire due to corona and I bought croma vouchers and used for my dishwasher purchase. Stick to hotel or flight redemptions if possible.
