Finally got my Axis Bank FASTag door-delivered today by Mr. Umesh. Next steps - affix it on my car, take a snap and send it to Mr. Umesh, and my account should be activated

Applied for Fastag at BETL office on 11th. Login to system created within an hour. Tag issued on 15th. Should be fixed to car on 18th. Did try with Axis bank before this, but felt like they were sitting on my application.

Anyone facing issues with fastag showing as "Suspended"? We haven't been able to make it work at the BETL toll at all. Called the icici helpline and they asked to transfer the money from CUG to the TAG account, but no success at the toll yet!

Does anyone know how to escalate such issues to get resolution?

Is you tag active? Does the portal show that your tag is blacklisted?
In my case, I got suspended status when my tag got blacklisted.

As far as BETL goes, I go through the ETC lanes but my tag is never deducted. This has happened thrice now while getting onto BETL coming from Hosur side.

The same outcome at Attibele toll booth coming from Hosur side (also operated by BETL). Basically BETL's hook into the Fastag network seems to be buggy.

I am going to Kerala today so will be able to check the experience in the towards Hosur direction.

How do i check? Its a new tag so never been used so far. The helpline guys said everything seems okay on the tag. They say its a problem with the BETL system while the toll guys say its a problem with the icici tags

Login to the ICICI Fastag portal
In the account summary page, see whether your tag status is "active".

Secondly, as said by @binand, it can be an issue with BETL. When you are travelling out, try with other tollbooths.

To all guys who have recently got ICICI FASTags and having issues whether it's working or not, especially while passing Attibele or BETL booths, let me tell you that you are not the only folks to complain about it.

2 or 3 of my colleagues who work out of EC and got the tags complained the same as they first passed the BETL lanes. In reality, they haven't worked.

Another interesting thing that I had experienced:

I have both BETL and ICICI FASTag and the very first time I passed Attibele booth on my return from Pollachi few weeks before, it showed me a combined balance of BETL RFID as well as ICICI Tag.

After this, I have taken the BETL road to work on at least 20 occasions and always seen BETL RFID take priority over FASTag.

Thus can only be 2 things :

1. When you have BETL RFID, FASTag will not work

2. Latest ICICI FASTags don't work at BETL managed (includes Attibele) booths at all.

If I have to look at reason 2, on the same trip bak from Pollachi, two other cars with just FASTag too have had no signs of money deducted from their account till date, and these tags were older than mine.

Lastly, don't worry if tags don't work at BETL. It should be a case with just BETL. If the status says "active" when you log in online, it will work elsewhere as it has for me on many other highways as well.

I think the issue is not just with icici tags. My tag is from idfc bank (received from BETL office) and it did not work in BETL, yet to try in other locations.

Yes finally it has happened, visited the BETL office near Electronic City in response to their SMS and got the FastTag affixed on the windscreen of our car, the whole process took only 3 working days. For the benefit of people living in and around south bangalore, this is the best option. Cheers!!!

Not needed. You have to just transfer (IMPS) the amount to the AXIS account.
Here is the detail I got from them-

Process for Recharge:
Step 1: Customer can log in to his Internet Banking
Step 2: Create Beneficiary for Other Bank Transfers / NEFT
Step 3: Enter the following details
Name: Customer Name
Account Number: Please enter your Complete WALLET ID
IFSC: UTIB0000ETC
Amount: Amount that needs to be recharged
Step 4: Initiate Payment for this Beneficiary.

! That is if you don't want to burn fuel, time and pay toll to visit Devanahalli, Airport Road Toll Plaza, besides being a hit/miss (depending on whether they have stickers in stock).

I suggest get it replaced for free. Mine did not work for 3 weeks. I raised a complaint and got it replaced and it has been working like a charm ever since. I bought it from ICICI POS at Mumbai - Pune Expressway.
