sam, how is the eagle f1 ? how many rotations have you done so far & how many kms covered ? I loved the tyre but had to stay away from it after reading bad reviews. when did you buy them ? pre-T-BHP or post T-BHP ?

Eagle F1?

I couldn't have been happier. I have covered 24000 on them (due for rotation 3). In 3 years I've had 2 punctures.

The tyres are not noisy and like hot sticky rubber everywhere. The lancer handles like a go Kart on a clean road. Turns are steady, minimal squealing and the tyres make you feel very confident.
On wet roads also, the car handles like a dream.
However the tread pattern causes it to pick up everything in it's path, lift and fling it outwards. This means water sprays, pebbles, dust everything. Also very annoying for the people following you.

The tyres look FANTASTIC when the car is parked.

From the BHP Garage, they look like GSD 2s. Those don't have the noise and wear issues that the 3s seem to have. Seen these lasting over 40k km, if driven normally.

Arrey , i am trying to get him to listen to Engine-Vengine sounds.

That day during lunch he was talking to me about Ford GTs!!

Its working a little. Now we plan to get him in a convertible and have his golden hair flowing in the wind

I seriously respect your consern...As for the speed its all in entering the corner and exiting it... if you can get them perfect you got the speed!!

ive been doing driving on that road since late 2003..

well there is a trouble area while coming from kormangala to airport road there is a small bump.. which can take the car lightly in air for a couple of sec but thats enough to loose control... thats the only thing on that road... ive had my moments a couple of times on that same spot... the bump is after the long straight where you hit max speeds.. & there is a corner as soon as you clear it.. i was doing 130kmph when i hit the bump the first time and still remember that day... but the bump has gradually come down over the years...

always did it @ 3:00am in the morning... me and another frnd of mine hez got an astra... now i am more carefull though!!

Jay, My friend, I know that can be done only in the night....but inner ring road is not the place....the accident of the autodriver happened at 3AM when he was returning after work and was bumped by the car at high speed....
Running at higher speeds doesnt display your capability, it is the machines!!! It is kiddish to try out those things in city....anyway, if people are more interested to test how speed their car can go then try out in GQ (Hosur - Krishnagiri stretch) but not in city.....it is always risky....
No further comments on this please...Mr. Rage gave a nice reply to my comment and i am fine with it....

Running at higher speeds does display your capability to push the machine to that speeds.

Such speeds done by people who are under-aged or who dont have control / knowledge about the machine is certainly kiddish and YES IT IS RISKY and NO I DONT RECOMMEND IT... but what i want to say is that such speeds are achieved only when they can be...

One cannot test the max capability of their machines on these roads but then some speeds can be achieved here as it is a straight stretch with a median avoiding vehicles from other side to turn onto you... but then again once you reach the turns, you have to slow down else accidents like the one you mentioned would take place... and mind you my friend such speeds or testing on GQ too is not safe...

I apologise to you for commenting on this even though you asked not to, but then i just wanted to clarify my point to you...

Well Mr.Rage, i agree i'm fast but yet i'm safe... and i am not lecturing others !!! just was clarifying my point to akroy...

Well driven many vehicles and gone as fast as they would go but then again all were with 4-5 people in them, luggage and full tank fuel... but the last trip to Kollur in an Innova was a good drive, did 155 kmph with 5 people, luggage and full tank fuel...
