Amazing report on an amazing bike, congrats on the bike dkaile. Wish you miles, upon miles of pleasure. Do keep the thread alive with your updates.
This bike is very popular in the UK, it's got plenty of street presence and the tunes from the exhaust is pretty sweet too.

Cheers

Re: 2018 Kawasaki Ninja 1000 - The Comprehensive Review

A very comprehensive review on one hell of a bike! The VFM quotient of super bikes is only increasing day by day in India.

0-100 in 3.3 seconds.

That's faster than a Multistrada 1200S which costs twice of what the Ninja 1000 does. A 4 cylinder tourer for 9.8 Lakhs ex-showroom. Things just can't get better.

Kawasakis are pretty reliable as well. Enjoy her for miles to come sir!

Regards,
Vishy

Superb Auto Paddock Stand

Few photos of the bike with this Paddock Stand I had procured. Details here - http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/superb...ml#post4275915

I used the the swing arm attachments on which I felt the bike was more stable rather than the spools. Also it requires 2 people to lift as the bike is heavy and it is prudent that you use help unless you are Arnold... lolz

Did the first top-up since coming home. I got a average fuel economy of 19.1kmpl. Perhaps the bike was ridden very sedately due to beak-in constraints which was the reason for this more than acceptable FE. Filled normal petrol this time, not premium. A view of the open fuel lid -

Re: 2018 Kawasaki Ninja 1000 - The Comprehensive Review

Congrats on the gentleman's sports bike. Great detailed review. It's reviews like these that make me doubt if I'll ever be able to write an ownership review on tbhp

Kawasaki has priced the bike so well. With all the features on offer, this is undoubtedly the most VFM superbike available in India right now. If I remember correctly, Kawasaki had assigned only 20 Ninja 1000 bikes for India at this price and all are already sold out. If the price is kept at 9.98 ex showroom, Kawasaki will be able to do what it did with Z800. The Z was so aptly priced that it just decimated the competition. I see the Ninja 1000 doing the same. 1 year down the lane, when these beauties are available in the used bike market at good prices, it will be time for me to upgrade!

At what rpm's does 100 and 130 come up in the top gear? How is the ride quality on broken roads?

95 at 4000 rpm. Haven't gone above that for the time being except in very short bursts. At 6000 rpm the speed should be around 140. Red lines at 11000 rpm. But all that after the bike properly breaks in. Ride quality is quite good but the the bike is not meant for broken off roads. Highways is where it is supremely comfortable.

Cheers...

Deepawali Gift - RAM Mount X-Grip Fork Stem Kit

Had Procured this Made in USA RAM handlebar fork stem kit from Riderz Planet, Ghitorni, New Delhi for Rs. 4400/- (MRP 4700/- US $55) Part# RAM-B-176-A-UN7U and decided to install it. Installation procedures can be found on YouTube and on their site. Below are the 3 main listed components as shown in the videos.

The handlebar fork stem is the best place on the Ninja 1000 to mount a phone mount like RAM as it provides OE fitment bang in the center of the handlebar, right below your viewing angle for GPS and other mobile needs and without hindering the view of the road or the instrument cluster. Some Photographs of the install -

The Kit's components
2018 Kawasaki Ninja 1000 - The Comprehensive Review-ninja-1000_15102017_ram-mount_01.jpg

Base Ball of the Kit mounted as per the instruction videos. It's a 10 minutes job. This can remain permanently attached to the bike without fear of theft. The other components can be removed as per your convenience.

A closer view of the base

With the phone mount (X Grip) attached to the base
2018 Kawasaki Ninja 1000 - The Comprehensive Review-ninja-1000_15102017_ram-mount_3.jpg

The mount can be attached horizontally or vertically according to your convenience

View of the base with the mount
2018 Kawasaki Ninja 1000 - The Comprehensive Review-ninja-1000_15102017_ram-mount_6.jpg

Finally the view of my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge attached to the mount with the supplied tether so that the phone does not detach even at very high speeds
2018 Kawasaki Ninja 1000 - The Comprehensive Review-ninja-1000_15102017_ram-mount_5.jpg

This is the standard size X-Grip which can easily take phones upto the size of Samsung Note 8. There is a even bigger X-Grip available optionally for 6"+ Phones / Tablets, which was not needed in my case.

Cheers...

Re: 2018 Kawasaki Ninja 1000 - The Comprehensive Review

Congratulations Dkaile Saab,

As usual, your enthusiasm and love for motorcycling shines through your report.

Please make sure that the tire pressure is always correct as these soft compound ones will be a lot less forgiving than your Harley tires if pressures are not correct. It's the only solution against getting bent rims. One ride with low pressure can square off the tires sometimes.

Also, now that you have a bike with some "real" suspension, you should try playing with it to suit your body weight and riding style. Be sure to document all your settings, most importantly, stock settings, before you start playing. Keeping in mind that one setting might not work for different types of rides, twisties versus highway.

Have fun and wishing you a smooth inline 4 of an experience.

Cheers

Ride Safe.

Re: 2018 Kawasaki Ninja 1000 - The Comprehensive Review

Wow! What a review!! Read every word of it and glad found a lot of take away from the report before I pick my Ninja 1000. Delivery to happen on Mon, 23 Oct. Mine would be the second MY18 Ninja 1000 to be delivered from Mumbai. I have already communicated the sales manager to get rid of the front number plate and sari guard.

19 kmpl is impressive even though you rode in Low power mode in run in parameters.

I wanted a similar set up for GPS mount so will buy RAM Stem mount soon.

P.S. The pictures are too good! Will share my mobile number in PM to be part of the Ninja 1000 India Clan

The beautiful embossed MT logo. The quality of the helmet is quite high and better than the Bell Qualifier I was about to purchase but deferred after trying this at Riderz Planet, Delhi. Got it direct from Spartan as they didn't have my size or the color. As I was already wearing the MT for the past 3 years, went for it and it seems a damn good helmet.

If you ever need those clips, your best bet would be a Maruti Showroom. These clips are 3rs each and way way better quality than what you get on Aliexpress. Included a photo with the part number if you ever need it :
