Sure, there is and its the best hill road I have driven on like I posted in the Ooty thread. It goes from Manjoor -> Kundah -> Lovedale (Lawrence school). The route through Emerald village goes to Good Shepherd school and reaches Lovedale.

Adding myself to the trip as tentative, is there a cut-off date? I assume the date will be decided once number of attendees and place to stay and approximate cost is figured out. Could there be a mini-meet this weekend on 25th or 26th?

My past experience from this route has been that I run out of energy by the time I get to Masinagudi (Non a/c Gypsy).

Thanks Ampere for the suggestions:
- shall opt for the route via Bhavani Sagar dam as we get a chance to see it.
- consequently, settle for lunch at Karamadai (Mettupalayam was only for better lunch options). Any pointers ?
- to soak in Emerald/Avalanche lake vistas, a drive past wouldn't do justice so I did check with RedHills Nature resort for the overnight option. Unfortunately they are closed in the monsoons. Carry forward to the next drive

a. Oops, here's the cut off date: 23 June 2013 post which based on the numbers, place to stay and cost will be firmed up.
b. Mini-meet you need to post and see how it pans out
c. A note of caution. This is a monsoon drive, so more than non a/c, a soft top option is something you might wish to consider .

It wasn't planned as a family meet given the rain challenged weather and the twisty content of the drive. However, if respective family/friends of the participants are game and set for the drive, they are most welcome to join the rain riders.

As this is a continuation of an old thread, not sure if poll for stay options can be introduced at this stage.
