As a measure of abundant caution (esp. as 6/7 July is a weekend), am fast-forwarding the accommodation reservation process:

Have arranged with Taj Sales office to accept reservation on bed and breakfast plan (*vfm esp. on twin share):

To reserve your accomodation, directly call: Ms Indumati: 080 6660 5728 Mon-Sat [9.30 am – 5.30 pm] use ‘password’ “Ooty overnighter”
Your credit card no. and expiry date to be furnished to secure your reservation.
In case of any difficulty, do post / pm me.

The confirmed and tentative list of tbhp handles, as on 19.06.13, have been forwarded to Ms Indumati.
Subsequent additions, if any, will communicated to Ms Indumati who, subject to availability, will confirm the accommodation.

Once the accommodation is settled, *add-on-meal plans on offer can be mutually agreed upon and communicated to the hotel 48 hours before departure.

Accomodation options:
a. “Twin share” i.e. accommodating singles in twin-bedded rooms. Allocation by hotel on first come first serve. For mutual comfort, kindly refrain from smoking in shared rooms. Tax inclusive tariff Rs. 5,000/- (i.e. 2500/- per head)
b. “Single occupancy” for those who prefer the privacy of their own room. Tax inclusive tariff Rs. 4,500/-

Cancellation may invite one night room charge.

Bills to be settled on check out at the hotel.

1. Do we book the room directly or only give our credit card info to the hotel and then rooms are allotted once we reach there?

2. "6 July: 7.00 -7.30 am: “Hi” @ Kanakapura –NICE Rd Jn. after DIY b’fast".
Kanakapura Rd–NICE Rd Jn, on NH 209, is identified by the NICE Ring Road flyover, which is about 9 kms from the ORR-Kanakapura Rd Jn @ JPNagar 6thphase, the start of NH 209.
Meeting up: +/- 500 metres of the flyover. Giveaway: Look out for parked cars with tbhp stickers.

If so, I think we need to rethink our plans. We can either stay back in Mysore, have an early-ish dinner there, and then head for Bangalore (meaning we get home 11pm-midnight) or we get out of Mysore 4pm and reach home by 7-8pm.

Me thinks the latter option of reaching Blr by 7-8pm would be optimal so that folks can get back to work on Monday after a good night's sleep.

An early-lunch with a 12.30-1.00 pm dep from Ooty should work.
