I agree with you on this.
There was this one instance where my friend went to their shop in Bombay and he was told that the part will be available at their andheri branch. So he went to the andheri branch that day. They even had the part in stock however they didn't sell it to him as they did not know the price. So again he had to wait for 3 days knowing that they have the part in stock but cannot buy it because they don't know it's price.

Looks like a big foreign hand that prevents us Indians from Being Indian & Buying Indian - M&M and Tata looked to be the only Indian car companies which made some decent progress in making cars in India

Re: Mahindra Scorpio : Issues & Solutions

Spent three sessions at the ASC and got a lot of problems solved.

TPMS sensors all five replaced under warranty.
One remote that never worked from Day 1 of purchase . Both remotes recaliberated by connecting a laptop to a diagnostic cable above the clutch pedal. Working fine now.

The clutch sensor switch replaced under warranty, with this the earlier complaint that the engine was close to shut down when slowing down in 2 nd gear solved.

I had the same issue in my Xylo and had to replace the clutch switch at ~61K KM. for ref, Some earlier discussion at http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/test-d...ml#post3009462

Just last week the issue resurfaced (~96K KM), and two days back got the switch replaced. I paid about 450/-. In my case, at both instances, it wasn't covered in (extended) warranty.

this part is bound to wear as we keep using clutch. The switch senses the clutch position and send this data to ECU for realtime analysis / action.

Re: Mahindra Scorpio : Issues & Solutions

I found this diagnostic manual for the 2.2 mHawk on the net today:

http://www.teknetmahindra.com/files/...vlx_sle_lx.pdf

There are lots of other files (servicing instructions, TSBs etc) for all M&M vehicle models on that site, which are not accessible via the home page. However, if you Google "teknetmahindra files", you'll get a direct link

I had found these documents sometime back, and was wondering to whether post publicly or not - as these are I think their internal docs, which by mistakenly as visible on Internet (maybe some webserver access config issue !) :-)

Re: Mahindra Scorpio : Issues & Solutions

Is there a way I can get the seat assembly specifications (dimensions). I am thinking about improving the car seat comfort in my Scorpio. One option is to do some upholstery work and get a nice cover along with appropriate cushioning.

The other option I am thinking about is the XUV500 seats. They seem to have better fit and finish and looks to be a good fit in the Scorpio as well.

Any thoughts?

Re: Mahindra Scorpio : Issues & Solutions

Hi, I am planning to change my Scorpio VLX tyres and looking for an increase in size without the tyres jutting out of the body so I am looking out for a size of 235 / 70 R17.

I have not been able to zero on to this size on the net, any inputs.

Will the XUV specifications fit the vehicle perfectly - 235 / 65 R17

Need urgent help, 'water in fuel filter' light is lighting up intermittently since today morning in my 2013 scorpio sle. Took it to koncept noida (asc) but reached there past their closing time and nobody helped - saying they need to open and clean the fuel filter and its a time consuming job (and that sensor may need to be changed, tank cleaned and checked with laptop - their senior service manager Mr. Trivedi told me all this)... Am really anxious, as they didnt even try to open and check the filter drain outlet telling me its not possible in newer scorpios! Instructions on how to drain the sedimentor shall be appreciated.

There ought to be a drain cock at the bottom of the filter/sedimenter unit. That is mandated in any filter design. I cannot believe that it is not there in the newer Scorpios. If such a drain is not there, hmm..., all I can say is that this is a ripe case for litigation!

Even i don't believe so - i feel its more a case of ASC people 'unwilling' to do it than being not possible. I guess they gain more by replacing the fuel filter and sensor than merely draining and cleaning the same. Really sad state of affairs these days at most ASCs - profit-mongering and fleecing unsuspecting customers being their sole reason of existance...

Re: Mahindra Scorpio : Issues & Solutions

And this Diesel filter is expensive. It is made in Spain by Bosch and sold in a Mahindra paper box.

Punet take it to any reasonable service centre, Bosch or similar or even a grade lower. Let them clean it, and inspect the filter. If it needs replacement do that.

Do you buy fuel from one particular fuel station or many ?

Re: Mahindra Scorpio : Issues & Solutions

Repeated blow-outs of AC fuse - is it a sign of a failing or failed AC compressor?
