You are referring to led strips. It is coated with pvc so that makes it water proof.

Here in Kerala a pair of led strip costs Rs.650/-

vaisakh, when you say package for an electronic device, you mean the shape/size in which it was made

Welcome.

Its costs Rs 16/- per led. A friend of mine is working on the circuit, which will give 3.2V per led. It will be ready by tomorrow.

And about the position I haven't decided yet. I am thinking of placing 2 set in the bottom grill near the fog lamp. Can anybody give some good suggestions?

you should use a 150 ohm or 220 ohm resistor, as i've been using L.E.D. in car extensively for over 2 years now, and keeping a nice resistor will certainly give longer life to L.E.D. else in a few days the 3 L.E.D.'s will start blinking and them burn out.

Rs.16/- per L.E.D. looks like little expensive as compared to price i get in local market here, but i checked today itself, these types are not yet rolling here.

Update

Made a circuit which will throwing 3.6V per led, and lite it up for 1hr and went for food. When we were back those were gone kaput. It was too hot. So decreasing the voltage and the brightness also decreases viz.

value of resistance = ?
you do not set a voltage for LED's - the LED's dont like being told what voltage to work at :P
rather, design for a particular value of current

There are LED strips available in market. I seen it once in a car. I has very small LEDs like the ones in mobile and its properly shield.

What exactly it is and not preferred over own circuits? Any idea how much does it cost?

I don't like it because it being so small. The light spread by those are very small, and personally i don't like the way it looks.

Those are usually detachable pair of 3 leds. It cost some Rs.600/- per M.

I recently purchased this Blue SMD L.E.D. Strip @ Rs.450/meter
1M = 60 LED's can be cut for each 3 LED to work on 12volts.
