re: OBD (On-board diagnostics) for Indian Cars

Hi Everyone,

Does anyone have any experience on Lemmiwinks ECU tuning?
It is essentially a very simple software (freeware) which allows you to tweak a lot of the engine settings. I am attaching a brief PDF from a guy called EdyJun (he used to be a pro with this, but seems to have disappeared recently).
The software can be used on most OBD2 compliant cars. You can easily find the software on the net (it was developed as a freeware by independent freelancers).

Need some help from the pros here and guidance from Auto R&D engineers on the forum who can explain what each of the parameters will do and what is the safe range in which they can be adjusted.

(Disclaimer: Please experiment at your own risk and don't try anything which you don't know.)

re: OBD (On-board diagnostics) for Indian Cars

Hello everybody,
I got Tata Manza Bharat III. - Feb. 2011
I have also acquired a V1.5 ELM327 OBD2 OBDII CAN-BUS Diagnostic Scanner USB
OBD (On-board diagnostics) for Indian Cars-13.jpg

but I am unable to connect to my vehicles ECU.
The software I tried are Scantool.net, Diginoto 4.03, ProScan 5.9, & Scanmaster.
The Scanmaster ELM shows only the battery level, with the following output :

Help me connecting successfully.

Please post the picture of the OBD connector(with contacts visible) on the car. A picture of the ECU also would be great. Also confirm if you have Diesel or Petrol variant.

Here is the snap. If you zoom-in, the connectors are marked 1 to 16 starting bottom right. I think the actual metal contacts in the connectors are number 4, 5 & 7.

I do not see a reason why the ELM327 is not able to detect the ECU.

I suggest you try with FiatECUScan software. 1.3 JTD is supported in the new version and it supports ELM devices.

Yet I have not been able to make it work on my wife's Swift. Let you all know when I meet success!
I bought a PLX Kiwi WiFi ELM327 Wifi device to connect the A-Star and Ritz Petrol ECU to my iPad. However, it does not give out any readings. Neither did it when I connected this to a Mac / Win machine. With an ELM 327 Bluetooth device, it connected and provided proper outputs.

can you please share some light on how you went about creating your software?

@Scudariaferrari
I am not sure it will help you, but I have not been successful connecting to any Maruti cars so far.

For Fiat, I used a serial port script to send and receive data. TeratermPro could be a good one to start with.

Anything worked on Swift 1.3? Please do let me know. would be great help

The Bluetooth one did connect to the Petrol Ritz and even gave out readings on instantaneous fuel consumption on my Mac (used an app called movi demo). But the PLX Kiwi Wifi did not. It just gave me the voltage when I manually selected the protocol.

The Bluetooth device connected flawlessly to the Petrol Ritz and A-Star AT. It even detected an ECU and the transmission control unit for the A-Star AT.

Have not tried anything on the diesel yet.

My PLX Kiwi Wifi did not even connect to a Ford Fiesta diesel :(.

Not sure if it is a problem with the unit or if it is because the Indian ECUs use a different protocol.

If almost all these card are using OBD2, whit is it mentioned that SX4 is the first car which is OBD 2 certified in India? Has anyone tried any of these on the SX 4 diesel???
