I would agree here, as long as you have a receipt/invoice indicating that you paid for the extended warranty things should be fine. And like GTO said booklets do get lost/misplaced at times by the supply chain, happened to us with our NHC & we had to remind the delaership upon which they sent us another one.

The invoice doesn't mention anything. Besides, the 3rd year warranty was supposedly free according to the deal that time.

After a few calls to Bimal today, they were able to confirm I did have 3rd year warranty. I even got the serial number of my warranty booklet. But they said it might take a day to search my folder and fish out the warranty booklet if they have it in the first place.

The issue date of the warranty booklet was 28-4-2005, six days after I took delivery.

According to the records from Bimal, they have couriered my warranty booklet. Looks like it is lost.

But, they were able to fax my extended warranty contract details. I have the contract number/date for the 3rd year warranty. That means labour will be free.

The labour shortage is delaying the repair. Mr.Kamath has promised that the engine will be opened today.

Talk about luck! And the value of recording the history of your car with T-BHP!

Exactly! I would have never remembered I had 3rd year warranty if I hadn't looked back at my Baleno Test drive thread.

But Samu... does the labor charge actually comes free? If I am not mistaken the extended warranty that comes with Tata says only some critical parts (not all) are covered against manufacturing defect/failures... labor cost is not covered under this IIRC.

samurai was wondering if this has got something to do with the current issues with your car?

If you know the location of this crank-shaft pulley and the oil filter where the stone stuck, you will realise it is impossible.

zappo, tata leaves out the electricals and belts in extended warranty(wisely so), but everything critical like Engine, GBOX etc., is covered. These things fail rarely in all cars, and most manufacturers cover these parts

3rd yr warranty does cover the engine comprehensively.

Samurai - glad to know it got resolved. If labor being free is committed to by the service station, the least we could expect is a party for that amount when I'm in Mangalore on June 24-25

I dont think labour is covered under this.. Please have this checked. As far as i remember only parts are covered and labour is charged.

Sorry MAG.
