Hi Ajmat,

trust me, I will not be the first one to call for a drag. However if asked I will not stay back either.

I hope if someone is interested he will bear in mind that the place has to be safe and not some busy street or a public road.

Cheers
Shrey

BP's Baleno is not stock unfortunately. It has a K&N along with a FFE fitted.
But this is really flogging a dead horse
I thought we were done with the VTEC vs Baleno debate, and had moved onto some other cars, like the non VTEC 1.5 OHC.

I think the only way to stop floggin the dead horse is for mods to change the topic so that many of us what want the answer to non VTEC 1.5 OHC Vs Baleno

Ah its not even that, there are many other cars that want to be heard here. Palio GTX, iKON 1.6, Lancer, Accent Viva CRDi, Sipani Dolphin, Maruti 800.

How about

NHC VTEC vs Baleno (both stock) - which one is faster to the ton and beyond?

NHC VTEC, totally. And it is actually much more easier to extract power from the NHC's VTEC engine. Although, it is not the screamer the OHC VTEC engine was.

But isn't as confidence inspiring as the Baleno at high speeds, especially under braking. Moreover the steering feels like a Logitech Momo with Force feedback turned off. So Baleno is no doubt a better Drivers car than the NHC VTEC (even if the NHC's engine takes it faster to the ton).

Guys whats the point in discussing about two cars which are not in production any more. How is it going to help anyways. My Swift Diesel will run circles around a stock Baleno/OHC Vtec on a track, so what??

Carwale seem to have updated their 0-100 numbers. This is what they say
NHC VTEC 11.35
Baleno 12.8

So in a straight line, NHC VTEC it is.

1.45 second difference? To me, figures like this are more relevant to cars like Lamborghini Superleggera - where 0.3 seconds faster to 100 makes them pay additional 25,000 pounds - simply because it is stripped down by 100 kilos.

Now, please don't say that I am comparing OHC/Baleno to Lamborghini's.

When we talk about stock xHC/Baleno, they are normal day to day commuting cars that have very similar characteristics and are closely matched in terms of performance. I really don't see a reason why we have to take this thread to so many pages.

No offence meant to anyone.

Hi,

I agree and the topic should be either renamed or closed and WRT to your swift I would love to see you doing that even in a straight line leave aside a track.

completely wrong info, a stock baleno would never take 12.8 seconds to reach 100. it would be close to around 11.4 or so...
