Carbon Cleaning / Decarbonisation of Engine

Can any private service station in Kolkata do it? Suggest me Kolkata guys.

Well, I just got my Esteems injectors cleaned by Millenium Mobility (it is a M.A.S.S. in Pune).

This is what read in the Labour charges section of the bill:

FUEL INJECTOR CLEANING (PETROL) 400

So they have used petrol to clean it... and used 400 bucks worth of it??

If one uses additives like System G, should it not keep the injectors clean and not require cleaning by the service centre?

I think they meant cleaning of petrol fuel injectors.

Your carburetted zen, by definition, doesn't have a fuel injector!! It has a carburator. You should let only highly experienced old mechanics touch that. The Johnny Come Lately mechanics can ruin the carburator setting by trying to clean it and adjust it etc.
With old machines, don't try to fix things that aren't broken.

I didn't mean injector cleaning. I meant engine de-carb.

Haridevpur - near Tolly Metro. I do all my work at Lansdowne Automobile (I know the owner there) - but they don't have facility for decarb.

the workshop should have a machine that costs around 25k for the decarb procedure.

bigger workshops might have them, but almost all the authorised service centres have them

Does anyone know any reliable service center in Mumbai wherein I can get my dad's opel car decarbonized and fuel injector cleaning etc done?

Any idea how much will manual cleaning cost and how much the other method wherein using additives the guys clean?

Main question... Where in mumbai?

hi humm,
i know a service center in borivali west. its called St. Francis. its located near St. Francis ITI in borivali(w). ask anyone and its a well known place.
they are A.S.S. for maruti and hyundai but they service all cars they have the equipment and peace of mind. they charge 750/= for my chevy optra injector cleaning and 1000/= for engine decarb for my car.
u can also search this very same thread for the guys located in santacruz west.

st francis is loacted at poisar in borivali west. its in the same line ahead of bhagvati hospital. the contact number is 28951206. contact a guy called waltern he's the best guy around and his knowledge is fantastic in cars. i know him personally and u can give him my reference.

Went to the Maruti workshop the other day with my brother's Alto for some suspension problems. It also needed some long due servicing. The car has done 32K and so the service person suggested doing a decarbonisation. Later on was informed by a friend that it's actually an engine flush and not a decarb.
Did some digging around and ended up with more questions.

Engine flush: The machine is hooked up to the fuel lines while the engine is being revved up. I can understand the solvent will be able to clean up the intake ports off any old oil (no carbon as we surely haven't started to burn anything). Once inside, the solvent burns up like normal fuel. Will it still retain the capability to clean the inside of the engine and the exhaust ports?

How is a decarb done? The cleaning I think involves the combustion chamber and the exhaust ports as well. Sounds very much like a manual process, but they sell machines for decarb, don't they?

As if all this was not enough add to that, soft and hard decarbonisation!

Any help from the experts please?

As per this news Engine Flush can actually wreck the engine and is not recommended. Though it was sold by quite a few service centers to undercover reporters.
