Though a little late to spot your thread, many congratulations on a great buy. You are quite enthusiastic about it and it shows in the amount of accessorising undergone by you.

Wishing you years of trouble free driving...

Thank you. The Customisation process has been Very Long and requires a Lot of Patience. the YETI key Chain has been sourced from ebay, a few accessories that are on the way are sourced from www.skodaparts.com, www.milotec.de, www.superskoda.com, www.amsparts.co.uk, www.prbox.fr, www.shop4skoda.co.uk, www.eshop.original-teile.de

Majority of these suppliers do not ship directly to India, so have taken the borderlinx route thru www.borderlinx.com. even for ebay.co.uk purchases where the sellers are based in the EU this is a better option as customs clearing in India is a Big Headache as most of the Sellers ship through the National Postal System and it takes more than 30 days for delivery

Re: Falling in Love Again. The Story of a Czech Maiden - Skoda Yeti

Finally Got my Very Own Copy of the ETKA : ETKA is the official electronic parts catalogue (EPC) for Volkswagen Group[1] motor vehicles.[2] Launched in 1989, ETKA superseded the older parts books and microfilm-based catalogues. ETKA is an abbreviation from the German: Elektronischer Teilekatalog. It is produced for Volkswagen AG by the Munich-based specialist automotive industry information systems software publisher LexCom Informationssysteme GmbH.

ETKA details genuine original parts from Volkswagen Group's four mainstream marques of automobiles, including Volkswagen Passenger Cars, SEAT, Škoda Auto, and Audi.[5] It also covers Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Volkswagen Marine, and Volkswagen Industrial Motor. The coverage ranges from the original 1947 Volkswagen Type 1 (more commonly known as the Volkswagen Beetle), right through to the latest present day vehicles and associated applications.[1]

The four marques covered by ETKA also have specific sections for geographic regions, along with its main "home market" of Europe. Furthermore, ETKA is customisable in specifics such as local purchase or sales taxes, local currencies, delivery addresses, and communications protocols.

With the facility to directly input individual Vehicle Identification Numbers (VIN), ETKA includes the ability to access the central database at Volkswagen AG, and highlights vehicle-specific components from within the larger range of components of the relevant vehicle model. These results can then be used to auto-generate online ordering for required parts, and can be fully integrated into third party Dealership Management Systems (DMS).

Additional inclusive components of ETKA are catalogues for generic hardware (fastenings, bulbs, batteries, etc) and chemicals (oils, greases, sealants), along with a general accessories catalogue

Re: Falling in Love Again. The Story of a Czech Maiden - Skoda Yeti

This is a Feedback which may be of use to you on the Product: Part No: HBA 096 040 – INTERIOR TRIM CLEANER.

Falling in Love Again. The Story of a Czech Maiden - Skoda Yeti-dsc_0037-1280x853.jpg

have had several cars and used several products like Armorall, Formula 1, Armorall Gel, Meguiars, Fuzzo Coat etc, but I have never come across such a Product. it cleans, beautifies and leaves a silky Matt Finish on the Interiors of the car – Plastic, Vinyl Etc, without Making the surface slippery and shiny like the above products. It also has a very pleasant Fragrance, that lingers on even after 24 hours of application, unlike other Products which leave a chemical like smell inside the car.

Falling in Love Again. The Story of a Czech Maiden - Skoda Yeti-dsc_0056-1280x853.jpg

am sure if the Same is Stocked in right numbers, and given wide publicity through dealerships and service Centres and by Keeping the same on display at Service and Sales Outlets, at Rs. 463/- it would be a good Buy, considering that some products like the Armorall Gel, meguiars etc retail at 550-600/- and am definitely sure that quite a few Skoda Owners will Purchase the same instead of buy the Alternative products, which they have been forced to buy from the aftermarket, on account of inadequate Information!

Hope someone doesn’t throw a 'Wrench in the works' by citing warranty voiding issues if the above product is applied.

Re: Falling in Love Again. The Story of a Czech Maiden - Skoda Yeti

finally got my auto headlamps to work with a lot of help from T-Bhpian Pramod and Parth Zaveri, I dont know if he is on T-Bhp.

Part No: 5L0941431EREH

Step 1: Physical Installation of the Switch is a very simple Process. Please see the below slide that i took from the workshop Manual:

Falling in Love Again. The Story of a Czech Maiden - Skoda Yeti-light-switch-install.jpg

Installed:

Falling in Love Again. The Story of a Czech Maiden - Skoda Yeti-img2012100100001.jpg

Falling in Love Again. The Story of a Czech Maiden - Skoda Yeti-img2012100100002.jpg

Step 2: check if the words Coming Home / Leaving Home appear under Vision and Light in the MFD. if thease appear then things will be very easy. if they do not appear then some Coding is required to be done.

Did some Coding and ended up with some errors like below:

09-Cent. Elect. -- Status: Malfunction 0010

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Address 09: Cent. Elect. (J519) Labels: 1K0-937-08x-09.clb
Part No SW: 1K0 937 086 H HW: 1K0 937 086 H

1 Fault Found:
01800 - Light Switch (E1)
008 - Implausible Signal - Intermittent
Freeze Frame:
Fault Status: 00101000
Fault Priority: 3
Fault Frequency: 12
Reset counter: 179
Mileage: 1744 km
Time Indication: 0
Date: 2005.14.13
Time: 07:14:19

Freeze Frame:
Term 15 On
Voltage: 13.95 V
ON
ON
Term 50 Off
OFF
OFF

Checked up with Ross-Tech and their Fault codes and got to know that there was some procedural error.

Ross -Tech provides this answer:

01800 - Light Switch (E1)

01800 - Light Switch (E1): Implausible Signal

Possible Symptoms
Parking Light Status Lamp (in Instrument Cluster) stuck ON
Self Dimming Rear View Mirror not working

Possible Causes
Light Switch (E1) faulty (or switched to an intermediate position)
Wiring/Connectors from/to Light Switch (E1) faulty

Possible Solutions
Check Light Switch (E1) See Measuring Value Blocks (MVB)

Check Wiring/Connectors from/to Light Switch (E1)

so all i did was switch off and switch back on the Auto Dimming IVRM, and then Remove and Refit the Switch - with the Ignition Switched off and Key Removed.

Then went to VCDS and Checked if the following were in ticked position on VCDS:

Find and check all the following options once again
1) assistance driving light
2) coming home - automatic
3) leaving home lights

when these were done, went to module 9 and cleared the fault codes. switched on the ignition and brought the lights to auto mode and then did a re-scan. errors were gone.

then after 8 pm on Saturday did a check by unlocking the door, and Coming Home was working.(probably CH and LH depends not on the Infrared / sunlight but on time in the ECU and which is displayed in the MFD as this feature doesnt work during day time after roughly about 7 am and upto 6 pm. further there is a setting in VCDS which states' summer-time' 'daylight saving time' etc, which makes my suspicion much stronger)

Morning of 30th, before 6 am did an unlock and Leaving Home was working.

this boosted my confidence and this morning did a re-scan and a tweak to the Rain and Light sensor Adjustment and took the car out of the Shed and did a test on the Automatic Lights and Lo! they are working.

PS: even if the ambient light is bright , the auto-lamps will not work if the car is in a shade. this is because the sensors work not on the basis of sunlight intensity, but on the Infrared rays emitted by the Sun.

This is a June 2011 Manufactured Yeti. Codings May Change on later versions!

Re: Falling in Love Again. The Story of a Czech Maiden - Skoda Yeti

almost 48 hours after the Automatic light switch install - did an Autoscan which is a function which always uses Aggressive Mode. When checked, VCDS will retrieve more faults than even the factory VAS tools in some cases.

accordingly as per the Scan No error Codes. Everything seems to be working well!

The Ring around the Keyhole is an aluminium ring. Purely Cosmetic upgrade. though some people tell me that it will also prevent scratches to the exterior of the keyhole tunnel, when you try to insert the key in the keyhole in darkness.

BT working with the OE sound System. The issue Still going round in circles. SAIPL had informed me that they would need 15 days to test it on their vehicles in Shendra, MH, and those 15 days ended on September 30th.

Spoke to them again on 1st, and they asked for another 15 days. in the meantime have sent a letter to the MD Mr. Suhir Rao.

alternatively i also am saddled with a service Manager who does flip flops. he agrees to something in the Morning on the phone and in the evening when you go to meet him to firm things up he sings a totally different tune, as though he was under the influence of Alcohol when he spoke earlier. inspite of giving him a suggestion that i would give him a letter or an affidavit sworn before a notary stating that the 'modification is being done at my risk and i will not hold the workshop or Skoda India Responsible if something goes wrong' he keeps harping about warranties getting void.

the comedy is that i fixed a sticker on the front windshield which read ' MEMBER - INSTITUTE OF CHARTERED ACCOUNTANTS OF INDIA' and he tells me if Skoda India sees it my warranty will get voided. so i pointed out to 3 stickers of Skoda India which read ' NON POLLUTING VEHICLE', 'PDI OK' and 'FINAL OK' on the front windshield, Toll Free Number sticker on the rear quarter Glass and the 'DIESEL' sticker that he had stuck onto the fuel flap and he tried to change the topic!

Sunilrj/Pramods, can you redirect me to the interface cable which will work with ross tech. Someone is coming from US and i was wondering if the cable can be ordered from amazon. I have elm 327 bluetooth interface, but what i understand it can only be used to see few error codes etc and not for the purpose of changing codes/ enabling/disabling modules

You are having a rollicking time with Skoda I tell you.
A drunk Service Manager, a Co that is confused about fitting its already existing BT module to your car and another fellow who says that putting stickers voids warranty.

Nevertheless, it is fun, especially to a person who is a DJ and a CA at the same time. No? So you make some music and keep it legal..!!

The Interface Cable has to be a Ross-Tech Cable. this is the cable you need to buy if you want to use VCDS - http://store.ross-tech.com/shop/VCHUC.html . the bluetooth interface / OBD scanners are ordinary tools just to check for error codes in the Canbus and WILL NOT work with VCDS which stands for VAG-COM Diagnostic System

i wouldnt say a drunk Service Manager, but an intoxicated / delirious Service Manager. The fellow who says putting stickers voids warranty is the same guy. the Mighty Service manager. For another friends Ambition 4x2 Yeti, he said that installing sun-film will void warranty. so made the friend call up the sales CRM and repeat the words of the Service Manager!! this friend is a regular visitor to Tbhp, but hasnt been able to get himself a registration Activation!

Re: Falling in Love Again. The Story of a Czech Maiden - Skoda Yeti

Finally after 45 days, SAIPL managed to send the Elch Technik P1 Glue Part No: HHA381014 and Elch Technik P1 Plastic / Polypropelyne Primer Part No: HHA381016 to the workshop.

Did the refitment of Rugged Wheel Arch Extension Kit, with the Skoda Recomended adhesives and following the Instruction Booklet Supplied on the 10th. Completed the fitment Process at the workshop at 3.30 pm

6 Hours Later removed the sticky Tapes that were stuck to hold the Wheel Arch trims and Now after 48 Hours, the glue seems to have cured well. The fitment looks solid as ever and i doubt if it will ever come off again.

heres the Picture of the Beauty, at around noon when the skies were a bit overcast!
