Crushing SX4 diesel is no big deal. The car hardly does any good numberss. The Dzire on the other hand has been a runaway success with MSIL shipping over 12k copies / month consistently.

Re: Honda Amaze 1.5L Diesel : Driven

The decisive factor for Amaze's success in India would be the quality of the car and the price point at which Honda will sell this car. All the other aspect is just another statistics in Indian market.

Struggled a bit to understand this, realised that there is a typo: "...so difficult to find vehicles in the U.S. with power windows..." should be read as "...so difficult to find vehicles in the U.S. with manual/wind-up windows..."

Their price estimation seems to be derived from Dzire.. must be highly optimistic !!

Interiors
Amaze +ve:

Price is a question mark currently

Yup , its gone for now.
Probably a slip up from the Overdrive guys. Honda has probably gotten a non-disclosure agreement from the people who attended the Media drive.
No reports are out yet.

Re: Honda Amaze 1.5L Diesel : Driven

Yup, OD link gone. I read through it before it went away. Here's the things that stuck with me from the article:
1. Rear space comparable to the City
2. Best 0-100 in its segment (diesel) - 13.xx from what I remember
3. Handling, ride not best-in-class
4. Good high speed behaviour

AFAIK dzire ddis to has got timing of 13-14 secs to 100.
I expect a light weight 100 bhp diesel car to do that in atleast 2 secs earlier. Or I am missing something ?

I was wondering why only OD had this and not others but looks like it was taken pretty quickly.

Here is what i could grab
*Bodyroll is present but is controlled
*Ride and handling good but not great
*very compact so good for city driving
*60mm more wheel base compared to brio hatch
*they mentioned that vehicle felt planted at 150km speed
*diesel is 110kg heavier than petrol but is still light at 1060kg
*wheels were skinny and puny

Probably a ploy by both Honda and OD to keep the excitement going :-|

Re: Honda Amaze 1.5L Diesel : Driven

What impresses me is the 400 litre boot in a sub 4m car, but then Honda has always been great at packaging, look at Jazz (only of Honda got the pricing right in the first place). Everything boils down to pricing of Amaze now.

Re: Honda Amaze 1.5L Diesel : Driven

Read that ALL variants will come with ABS as standard!! Standing ovation to you HONDA!! Thank you for setting the bar higher! Now please do get the pricing right too!

Edit:: Since the over all sales is taking a beating in every segment, will even a proper pricing fail to evoke good reactions from people? I hope Honda considers this before planning to charge a heavy premium for Amaze.
