Re: Honda Amaze launched at 4.99 Lakhs

Finally, it's a steal for the buck ! Had i not bought my polo last year, this would have been my car for sure !

Terrifically priced and I won't be surprised if Dzire is offered a huge discount !

Re: Honda Amaze launched at 4.99 Lakhs

Amazing pricing for the Amaze by Honda. They have set the cat among the Pigeons.

Review: 1st-gen Honda Amaze (2013)-honda-amaze.jpg

With the prices better the Etios and Manza, both Ts Toyota and TATA have got their task cut out. Honda's primary aim should be now to increase the production capacity and make good use of the excellent pricing.

The 2 cars that will under tremendous pressure now will the Etios and the Manza.

Excellent pricing by HONDA. Variant to variant OTR bangalore should be ~15-20k below DZire. And ABS is a HUGE advantage apart from space et al in the HONDA when compared to DZire. God bless competition

One question : Was just checking variant wise features in CARWALE and looks like ABS is standard across all variants. Is it so? If yes, hats off to HONDA

P.S : I personally feel ABS should be a mandate in any and every variant.

Not to forget the 400 litre boot space. I feel Entry level diesel would have more bookings.

Thanks, Prakash.

re: Review: 1st-gen Honda Amaze (2013)

Heres a thought that is a slightly confusing choice, atleast for me - Amaze VXAT vs SX4 AT...yes the gearbox is way better, but the SX4 engine & space is more too. Im looking for an AT to get rid of the frustration & rage in Mumbai traffic, so im only looking at AT options this side of 10L...

The difference is also a massive 1 lakh rupees between the two. Having said that, Etios, Sail and others could fall below 1000 units per month.
I think that they atleast are providing ABS/EBD across all variants in diesel. Though airbags are only in VX trim.

Yes. ABS is standard across all DIESEL and AT variants. Though only the top VX trim in petrol gets ABS.

+1, & the brakes in Amaze (lower variant) are (supposedly) better than Dzire's L & V variants.

Good pricing except for top end diesel. Unable to see why it costs nearly a lakh more

Looks like Honda themselves are counting on s trim to do the sale

re: Review: 1st-gen Honda Amaze (2013)

Honda has hit 2 birds in one stone.
1. Eating into Dzire mkt share.
2. Killing Swift and Dzire pre-owned mkt. As now many swift and Dzire owners will line up for Amaze, there will be excess supply of Swift and Dzire in pre-owned market which brings the pricing down by at-least 50K to 75K.

Way to go and take on the competition seriously by Honda. A long term strategy which will pay rich dividends to Honda.

Amazing, with most of the basic safety aspects included even in the base variant (for Diesel atleast), this is a killer.

Hope they quickly work on improving the turn around for deliveries.
