Balancing and alignment intervals will be specified in the manual.

Cold tire pressures should be checked every week for sure.

Do any one get a rattling sound around your left c-pillar?

I get it in bad roads and also while revving hard at idling speeds.

I can understand the bad roads part but why do you revv hard while in neutral? To check for rattles and its source or to induce them?

I don't know whether this is coincidence or what but I have the same problem in my Ritz apart from passenger seat rattle.

During the 1 Lakh service informed the SA about these two rattles and it was the C-Pillar plastic cover that was loose with a clip missing at the point where the parcel tray sits. I'm yet to find out the clip and is location though. The seat bolts were loose, I could turn them with my hand so got that tightened too.

Anurag.

Hey friends, I am planning to take my amaze to Goa next week. Goa is around 2000 km to and from my place.

Is it advisable to take a new car to such long distance?

I guess the roads from Hampi to goa is not so good too.

Any suggestions on how to drive would be great.

P.S: I just clocked 1000 km and my car is due for first service this week.

Is Honda claiming the 25.8 KMPL based on the reading of this trip meter too?

The rating is done by ARAI.
They must have their own methods(like tank full to tank full)

In a city like Mumbai I have observed over the various cars I have owned since 1996 I noted the real F.E. is about 40% of what is claimed by Arai . This is in bumper to bumper traffic and rarely engaging the fourth and fifth Gear .

The rating for city is 21kmpl. This figure is achievable in city but it all depends on style of driving, traffic and road conditions. A big traffic pile up can reduce FE drastically, so can continuous red light.
In my case, i face 6 red lights in 7.5 km stretch.
With such conditions one can't expect FE>20kmpl.
I've still managed to get average 18kmpl which is highly satisfactory. With AC off the FE goes to 21kmpl.

If you are not on a tight timeframe, You can take the car. A sedate and careful driver will be able to enjoy the drive keeping the car within the prescribed limits.

The bad roads that will encounter at some place or the other can be negotiated. Enjoy your trip. Godspeed.

My dealer is advising me to do the under body anti rust paint during my first service.

He quotes around Rs 3300 with 5 years warranty.

What should I do?

If the dealer is offering 3M antirust with a stamped guarantee card go for it, else head to the nearest 3M store to get it done

I personally an of the view that the anti-rust from the factory is good enough unless you live in a coastal area.

I'm sorry I had posted rattle on c pillar . I had meant the point where the A pillar meets the dashboard . It rattles on bad roads at that point .
