But there is the intercooler, no? Ten degrees dip in ambient might help the NA engine, definitely. But for small turbo engines, with an intercooler, does it make a significant, noticeable difference? Experts say what?

If we study up enough on turbo-s, 'intercoolers', assorted sensors, and multifarious thermal plastics, not to mention 'sleeves', 'gaskets' and 'heads' we could, just maybe, DIY service and repairs! We wouldn't then need the magical intervention of Mr. O P Sharma ;-)

Just kidding, of course

Re: The 2014 Fiat Linea Facelift - Test Drive & Review

Interesting read

"Temperature plays a big role here because as the air temperature is increased, its density decreases (PV = nRT for you science buffs). Therefore, if the temperature of the ambient air is increased, the turbocharger now must do more work (spin faster) in order to provide the engine with the same amount of oxygen. As temperatures continue to increase, the turbocharger can no longer increase its speed efficiently and therefore can no longer provide the engine with the same amount of oxygen. This results in a loss of power."

On the outside, a Dynamic version is almost the same as an Emotion variant minus the chrome strips on the sides, and with 15" wheels instead of 16". Everything else should look the same, including the front. I think I had shot a picture of the Dynamic variant a couple of months back. I'll post it for you when I find it.

Mainly curious about the Interiors on Dynamic Trim. Heard it has purple Interiors like Manza.

Here is one image , reasonably easy to find if you look. and i dont know where you heard it from , might want to classify it as a rather unreliable source for future news as well but there is no purple.

Re: The 2014 Fiat Linea Facelift - Test Drive & Review

So it looks like i might be joining the tjet bandwagon soon. I had booked the pre-facelift active but apparently it is no longer available. A fact made known to me after they collect the booking amount.

So it is going to be the facelift active edition. Now i hope i can clear a few doubts in here

1) I have a 160GB ipod classic loaded with lossles songs. How easy is it to change the headunit of the linea or is there an option to add USB to the factory unit?

2) Is the rear sun curtain available as an extra accessory?

This was possible with the earlier headunits, however not sure on the facelift one.

No, the OEM sun curtain comes only with the Emotion variant and is not available as an accesory.

Re: The 2014 Fiat Linea Facelift - Test Drive & Review

Yes , but do note that fiat advises on a few things when it comes to the Blue and me - atleast in the pre 2014 models but never hurts to check it out / keep in mind

Firstly there is a "max" device size advised - anything above that might have problems

Secondly the bit rate of the MP3's is also defined as what will not cause problems and what might beyond a point.

Re: The 2014 Fiat Linea Facelift - Test Drive & Review

It is fairly easy job to switch the HU. There is a trim part available with the service centres that converts the non standard slot of the OE HU to a standard 1 DIN. This comes in both grey and beige/golden shade to suit all of the variants, cost is Rs. 256+. The service centres are quite open to selling this OTC without insisting on fitment to be done in house etc.

BTW, isn't there a USB input already available. I am sure there is one in my TJet+ located inside the glove box and this has been moved closer to the central facia in the face lifted units. Then again the 'Active' variant may not be equipped with the same.

Re: The 2014 Fiat Linea Facelift - Test Drive & Review

@Puchoo & Khoj: I have booked the Active variant which comes only with CD player and not with the USB-Aux which is only on the dynamic/emotion :(

Hence my query as to a way to ensure my flac collection does not gather dust.

@Khoj: Shall ask around here. Thanks. Would love to fit in my current kenwood, polks, jbls et all into the linea :P

@Deathwalkr (what's with your Team-Bhp nom-de-guerre, man? ;-))

Sunblinds, rear and side, are really useful, and easy to get in the aftermarket.

cheers

Thanks so much khoj ji, for this nice piece of information. Just to clarify, there is also a metal cage type thingy behind the fascia which actually houses the radio. Does that need removal as well? I am guessing it should. I have sent you a pm.
