More long trips

I had taken the ANHC on a trip to Wayanad.
I am really impressed with the car's performance on those twisty roads. On the way to the jungle resort where we were staying, it did well not to scrape any of stones on the mud road.
Average FE during the trip was 14.5 kmpl with 100% AC

hey guna, you are going places. I feel like driving my ANHC to such beautiful places, just waiting for run-in period of 1 month(1K KMs).
somebody told me this run-in is not required. Is it recommended not to exceed 60KMPH for first 1,000 KMs?

@jimmz: 60 is an overkill. The idea is not to exceed 2500 rpm, and ANHC can easily do 80+ within that.

people debate on run-in. tbhp recommends it, and its your call how you want to follow it. I am doing it.

As skywalker has put it, it is a matter of debate. There is a thread on how to run in your car. I was making sure that I dont strain the engine during first 1k.

Guna, excellent pics, using the paddle shift in twisties is fun! ain't it? She is a performer, no doubt :-).
ANHC does 100 km/hr in 2 K rpm and 140 km/hr in 3K, so quiet safe to taker her 120 km/hr during run-in.
Mine touched redline few times during run-in, could not resist!

On manual ANHC 100 km/hr may be coming little later then 2k rpm. I think 4th and 5th gears are very tall in the AT.

Yesterday while driving on a highway (gurgaon-delhi-CP-gurgaon), i was hitting 2500 rpm at about 80KPH (ANHC -EMT). Not sure if i my angle of vision was incorrect as i was on drivers seat, but on a stretch of about 40 KM (which included some city driving and highway driving), i got 16 KPL. At one point i was getting 21 KPL, but anyways i really dont care of mileage, till i get to overtake and zoom on my horses.
I was never getting more than 10 KPL on stretch from my home-ofce-home (total 10Km) with bumper to bumper traffic. So, it was good to see my gauge showing 20 KPL.
But, i still regret going on long drive back to my native place during run-in period. I have been doing all things which shouldnt be done in run-in period (sudden acceleration/deceleration, braking, bumper to bumper traffic).

Do you mean to say the angle of vision can result in a paralax error while reading the meters? very unlikley.
When you say you were getting 21kmpl, is it the average FE on the diplay or the FE at that instant?
I think the idea is also to expose the car to varying driving conditions, except over-revving and sudden brakes, so the trip to native place is not a bad thing to happen.

In which gear? It should be closer to 2000RPM in 5th at 80kph. That is what I see in my NHC CVT.

I drive with my seat moved very closed to steering wheel. I am sure there is some paralex error as you put it.
I was getting average of 21 Kmpl and not the instant one (which is like a graph). I was on a healthy 19 KMPL till i hit a road jam (bumper to bumper traffic on ring road at 11:30 pm), and then the average dropped. But i think i had driven at about 60-65 KMPH constantly (may be optimum speed for good efficiency in 5th gear.
But, its a pleasure to drive to drive it on highways.

I have seen this grill modification quite a few times. Looks good in person. Is this official Honda part or a custom? the chrome doesn't look smooth in picture since it was through dirty window glass and clicked on a phone.

The gear ratios given in a car magazine supports the above. It is 30.58kms every 1000 RPM in the fifth gear which would correspond to 2616.

I could not find similar date for the AT. Even the NHC MT has similar ratio whereas the CVT has higher ones.
