Do you have any idea where the ECU is placed in Linea?

There are total eight ECUs in Linea. I had a problem with sound system and at that time saw one ECU, in fuse box just below the steering column.

Bad Events

Unfortunate week gone by:

1) Parked in cousin's apartment and there's a deep scratch (C-shaped) on the bonnet almost 1/3rds distance from the edge. May be intentional as its in middle of bonnet but again its not straight so must have been caused when someone bike handle fell and scraped the bonnet.
Damages: Paint has surely come out, I can see white paint underneath too (primer?)
Plan of action: Decided to leave it for now.
How much does it cost for full-bonnet repainting?

2) Parked near a hospital on the road. Some idiot uses a key or something to draw 2 long lines running along the entire length of the car.
Damages: Full line running along the entire length of car on right side. For most part only clear-coat seems pierced.
Plan of action: I will try using Quixx paint-scratch repair kit. Heard its the best.

3) A biker brushes/hits against rear-left door in slow-moving traffic.
Damages: Faint scratches/smudges on clear-coat.
Plan of action: Quixx should be able to fix it.

4) I am trying to take an L-shaped turn around a pillar in an apartment parking lot. Scraped the rear-left door on the pillar.
Damages: 15-20 scratches/dragmarks and can see metal too in some places .... looks really bad. No dents though.
Plan of action: Need to repaint the whole door.
How much does it cost for this?

All these events have seriously dented my confidence now after all these days of uneventful driving.

My Linea has caught the evil eye :(

Neo,

Hey, dont get so depressed. Its nothing. For your point 1 & 4, get the insurance claim (remember I said eariler that Insurance premium is paid to use the insurance claim). Accident in parking lot, rear left scratched with pillar & a biker on front fell on bonnet. May be you can include those side scratches also - during the accident a cyclist may scracth entire side by running its handle with the side. Else point 2 & 3 can be done thro' a scratch remover

Get this done, your car will be new. In my earlier car, I used insurance claim almost every year - 4 years out of 5 yrs 9 months & always kept the car exteriors new.

Never ever think about No claim bonus. thats the carrot used by Insurance companies to discourage claims. Don't get fallen for it ever.

Fully agree with Amit. You don't pay premium to get a NCB but to keep your car in good shape. Best to use insurance as number of scratches is large.

P.s. I always leave a small scratch un-repaired to nullify the evil eye effect

Touche!
I left my Linea parked at my house while I was driving the other cars around and some idiot banged into it. I have a big scratch on the Left wheels arch and a ding on the left rear door.
I even bought an evil eye locket from turkey to hang in the car :P

Aah Pradster, a Turkish evil eye locket will save you only from Turkish evil eyes

@JRD, If it was just there I wouldn't get it repainted LOL.

I am planning to claim insurance for my rear-door and bonnet (if insurance co approves).
Enquired painting charges with Autofin:
Bonnet: 3000rs, Door: 4000rs

My No-Claim Bonus works out to be 3000.

Is there any problem with repainting bonnet? Or am I better off not doing it (I mean original factory vs workshop paint finish)?

Ouch! That hurts!! Check and see if you A.S.S can do something neat about them- I dont think a scratch removal treatment can do much now...

IMHO, the scratch on the bonnet doesn't look like it can't be hidden by the treatments. The one on the door definitely requires work to be done. It is entirely your call, but I feel, if you leave the bonnet, you can get the door work done yourself and get the NCB.
