Thanks joecherian. I saw your post and was I was kicking my self how badly I missed the offer that you were able to get. As you said I should've waited for another week or two. Nevertheless I was able to save about 6.3K on opting for ICIC Lombard insurance without compromising on service.

Nevermind. You should be happy that you have a beauty in your hands.Enjoy the car. She will pay you back much more than you would have saved.

Well, that's wht the indicator said after the journey. Usually I would have needed 2k on petrol for my Santro before to travel Bangalore-Shimoga-Bangalore. Now I need to spend only 1500 on premium petrol.
Star vega experience suggests that we discount .8 km from the actual reading on the meter.

Which one did you buy and where did you buy? Specifications please
I installed the hella relay & the hella bulbs. But i suggest you go in for hella relays and philips rally bulbs. The power is 90/100 or 95/100. You need not worry about wire cuts , since none of the wires are cut. Its just clips and plastic connectors. I got it done a HOT TRACKS on victoria road. I suggest you go for somebody else, since i found this guy a little arrogant. Not very kind to buyers.

Congratulations Jayanth on your new City. It looks awesome. Sure you have picked up up the best sedan in this range.

I agree with you on the +ve sides of this car.

However, I felt Honda should have done a bit better in the suspension setup. At times, I felt my old Palio scores better in his department compared to ANHC. At low speeds, the suspension is good. However, as the speed builds up, it starts trasnmitting the road undulations and roughness inside and here's exactly my feeling comes.

Onthe -ve sides, I second you that they should have considered the followings:
a. Absence of front cabin light
b. No automatic central locking as the engine is started.
c. Illuminated power windows for all windows; it would have been so easy at night to find out that damn switch! My good old Palio has it! Ditto for other controls on the driver side door panel.
d. Fuel lid release: this they should have done better, something like an electronically controlled fuel lid or at least a manual one that can be operated from inside. The biggest flip side of the current thing is: if the central locking is not enabled by the driver inside, the fuel lid can be opened by a tap from outside!
e. weak headlights
f. automatic climate control

I wanted to add the following also:
a. non availability of dual beam headlights: if one puts on the high beam at night, there's a small zone immediately in front of the the car that remains in relative darkness; I found it quite awkward.

BTW, please let me know how do you perceive the lighting of the fog lamps. In my car, the lights are projected at an angle about 25-30 degrees sideways. So it illuminates the road median!

Cheers

I guess Honda strictly wants to abide by RTO norms on this front. I don't think they will do much about this even in their future versions. This problem existed even in the NHC, although many reviews and forums talked about this being an issue we didn't witness any change in the ANHC. I am planning to upgrade to Philips rally bulbs.

I agree with you. I found that using the fog lamps with Head lights lit the road much better than just using the head lights.

Hi Jayanth congrats.Excellent write up.You may have spend significant timeand effort to write this initial ownership report.Thank you friend. Please keep updating.

For me also the toughest part was to convince my wife that the extra money spend on ANHC about 3-4 lakhs (with respect to Swift Vdi/Dzire) was worth it.She was saying that the extra money spend would be used for buying a home.I tried to convince her that home loan is a different thing.

When we started to look for a few cents +/- home in Trivandrum recently she kept reminding (?nagging) me about the extra lakhs spend on the car.But the property prices have shot up significantly in the recent years that the 3 - 4 lakhs has become a negligible amount in real estate market.

I still feel that the car is worth the money since I plan to keep it for at least 7 years. The good fuel efficiency is a bonus.

Thanks Mevtec. yes it did take some some for me to list the plus and minus. I did make it a point to write them down everytime I felt them. The rest was ofcourse as easy as driving the ANHC.

You certainly made a good decision to opt for th ANHC, sometime I am speechless about the car's refinement. Like all owners the only thing that Honda could have done better is in the suspension department.

I had this problem earlier, but now most attendants are familiar with it - at least in Bangalore.

Nandan - what does the dealer/Honda think about this? Does this void the warranty?

Pratim - have you checked the rear seats comfort? I have never been in the rear seats but those who were there told me they liked the rear suspension of ANHC better than my Palio. Of course it could be a possibility that my Palio's suspension has gone for a toss over the years.

Hello Skywalker,

First of all, thanks for your wishes.

Even I haven't been able to occupy the rear seats. Actually I haven't found a trust worthy driver in order for me to do so. I hear my wife keeps saying it's very comfortable.

@jayanth, I just wanted to know if you see any issues with the angle of projection of the fog lamps. In my car, it is about 20-30 degrees sideways from the line of motion.

@mevtec, I agree with you that though ANHC is way costly (my perspective), it's money well spent. Moreover, I had a specific requirement that this car fulfilled.

Well, like you I normally do not get a chance to enjoy the rear seat comforts. I am a driver

However, once the ANHC is loaded it behaves way better. My observations are based on my driving patterns and most of the time, I am driving alone.

Cheers

As I said in my earlier reply if the fog lamps are used with head lamps, the lighting is much better, esp. in Highways. I was even yelled by the person coming in the front for not switching to low beam. I was thinking to myself "are the lights so powerful?" However, I still feel the necessity to upgrade to much more powerful head lamps.
