re: Story of my Italian horse - Fiat Punto 90HP. EDIT: Sold!

Hey the car looks good. I did not get the design of the alloys, may be because of Image Quality or the paint job. Look at yellow calipers as well, I guess since the alloys are black, yellow would give a good contrast.

Thanks. The pics were taken from the phone, so you cant make out the alloys!

Actually, my car's alloys have a red lip, so I was thinking of red calipers. Black, red & yellow would be an ugly combo, no?

Black, red & yellow on a Punto ! Personally I wouldn't do that, but that's just me. IMHO it will look better on more aggressively designed car, like Beat.

Looks neat. Your Punto seems to be evolving and evolving.

Your next upgrade should be a good camera to make your pics up the ooomph factor further

I feel red calipers would look neat on the black alloy and red lip combo.

This is best you have done Raj. Actually Fiat cars are so passionate that you feel good to own one. I was mad after I saw Linea that I wanted to Import it if Fiat doesn't bring it to India, thanks to them and Now I am happy owner of Linea.

thanks. I am searching for a reliable & good painter. This is how i do it everytime, phase by phase. I take time, do my homework & wait till I find the correct guy to do the job. I was searching for a good store for the vinyl for the past 2 months.

Hey Raj. Nice Mods. I have always been a fan of Punto's looks Regarding the black roof, even i am thinking on similar lines for my i20. Did you think of Carbon Fiber Vinyl by an chance ? Any particular reason you did not go for that ?

Yes, I did think of CF vinyl but I thought that will look too wannabe-ish on my car. Just a personal opinion though.

Infact, many of my friends had asked me to opt for CF or Matt black vinyl & to avoid glossy black.

but I opted for glossy black as i thought it will give a panoramic roof effect!

I am glad it is accepted well.

Exactly.
Moreover if you opt for any other vinyl apart from gloss black, it can be easily made out that its a vinyl work
But if you put these gloss black stuff, until and unless you come really close it you wont be able to make if its a paint or vinyl and moreover you get a shine also .

Hmm. I somehow dont prefer the Glossy Black finish. I think it reflects too much. Just my personal opinion though And since i am also planning to get a lip spoiler done in black, i think the lip spoiler wont gel with the white car if it has a gloss finish. I am deciding between a Matt Black finish or a CF finish. Have to agree that it looks fake and wannabe. But, looks pretty decent if job well done.

I think i need to check out some CF finishes in flesh and decide. Thank for your opinion. Appreciate it

re: Story of my Italian horse - Fiat Punto 90HP. EDIT: Sold!

Does you car have aftermarket alloys or any other stuff?

Somehow I feel CF vinyl on a stock car will look out of place. If your car is stock, maybe you can opt for Matt black vinyl.

Yes. I think you are right. A CF Vinyl roof with stock alloys will look like an half hearted attempt. Neither here nor there kinda character.

Right now, its all running stock. But, I have plans of an upgrade to 16" wheels soon. The problem is, I have run 15k in around an year since purchase. I won't get good resale value for the tyres now. So, i have put the plans of upgrade on hold so that i can upgrade when the tyre change is due or maybe at 25k. But surely will be an upsize from the stock.

I am in the process of shortlisting alloys, here are some of them i liked personally.

This first one is out of my Budget
