Bangalore - GaganChukki - Wayanad

I too joined them at the verandah. A little later something just jumped around and landed on my body. All I could feel was an eerie cold on my hand.

This guy scared me

The fellow wasn't scary, looked cool

By 17:30 we went for a walk.

All religions had a representation here at this place

There was a small chapel too there

Some information

Since the caves closes after 16:00 hours the place was empty

We walked back to the resort

They were excited to see jack fruits

Jr. PPG seems tired after the climb

We reached the resort back

We roamed around in the resort

We tried some fancy ideas

Beautiful sunset

We had some performances

We got back to our cottage

We were chit chatting and waiting for dinner time

It was really nice that there were no one in the resort and it was just us. We enjoyed the space we got very much. The resort does not have TV in the room and that added to the quality time that we got together.

The cave was all litup and looked beautiful

By 19:30 Dinner was served.

We had a slow dinner enjoying the time we were having together. 15 years, we have indeed come a long way. We felt happy that we are together for the occasion and immensely enjoying our time.

One more picture for the record

By 20:30 hours a group of 10 guys landed up there. They booked the candle light dinner from 21:00 hours. They went on boozing and making so much of noise around there, that we decided to get back to our cottage immediately. That was the only deterrent for an otherwise perfect day.

We finally hit the bed by 21:00 hours and had a lot of talk about many topics for a long time. We never knew when we all fell asleep.

Feedback about the experience so far at the resort.

The dinner spread was nothing to brag about being a Mallu. The spread had three veg curries and two non veg dishes along with white rice and chapatis. The menu was fixed. It was just a fancy idea, that was all about it. The smoke of the candles was an irritant sometime since me and Jr. PPG are prone to wheasing.

The cost for an overnight stay with candle light dinner for a family of four ranges to 7K, and if you ask me if it was worth the deal - I would really say NO. The dinner alone is at RS 500/- per head. It was just not value for money, not even the fancy experience. At 7K many other options, indeed better ones do exist.

Woke up quite early, this was the view from the window

Everyone was still asleep

I got out for a walk

Civvy was relaxing with the much earned break from noon the previous day

I took a walk up to Edakkal Caves

I reached Edakkal Caves Entrance

Some information you can use

The gates were closed

Soon I walked back

I reached our cottage

I found wifey catching up with some reading

Kiddies were still sleeping, so wifey joins me for another walk

Summer is slowly catching up, dry leaves starts to appear

But now it was the time for the flowers

Sr. PPG is in full josh, while Jr. is not so happy about the climb

We waited for breakfast to be served

First came the juice

Then came kadala curry

And then came puttu

After a very leisurely breakfast we walked around.

That was the cave where we had dinner last night

I miss these bamboos in Bangalore

We roamed around the resort

We settled here for some rest

, I was told this therapy costs a fortune

We chatted for a long time and caught up with many things

I wanted to go out to Regional Agricultural Research Station, Ambalavayal and have the simple lunch at the canteen. Last time I was so much excited after the lunch that this was a must do in this trip too. By 12:00 noon we decided to get out of the resort.

By 12:00 we took our Civvy for the drive

This road is a restricted road, the vehicles are only allowed for the resort, and for the officials of the ticket collection center of Edakkal Caves

By 13:00 hours we reached Regional Agricultural Research Station (RARS)

Many flowers greeted us

Some fruits too

Had a look at the coconut variety on offer too

Most important, the simple lunch from RARS canteen. I missed home

It was time for us to pick up some saplings for our orchard

Garcinia Kambojia (Kudam puli in mallu)

We were really tired after an hour of selection and billing.

We decided to stop for some refreshing Lemon Soda!

Sr. PPG gets us all in a passive mode. Don't know what were we all thinking at that point in time

We drove near some tea estates

We decided to go back to Banasura Dam for sunset and a speed boat drive, which we missed in our Christmas Drive.

We returned back

This waterfalls is for our next trip

We were back at Sultan Battery by 20:00 hours and we took tickets for yet another mallu movie Celluloid, which makes it our third mallu movie in a theater and the third one at Wayanad too

. We quickly had a simple dinner and entered the theater.

Our third movie at Wayanad!!

The movie was over by 23:00 hours and we got back to our room.
