@ALL: As of yesterday, the insurance guys at Ahemedabad HAVE NOT decided if it's total or not, the wheel grinds slow there. Will contact the insurance guys Monday and see what comes up...

Talked to Shiva; I'm arrangin to send his ICE components by courier; that's a total salvage of an expensive rig.

Thanks Ramky.
Planning to complete the log by tomorrow. So your wait should end sooner.

Thanks downsouth.

The Marble artifacts were clicked at Kishangarh.

I was thinking whether it was he or she. I guess a male sparrow should have more darker colors on head - isn't it? I got confused with the darker feathers on the wings.
Though a urban bird we hardly see them around in big cities nowadays.
She was sitting in the balcony wall. The first shot I took was with the window pane closed, and the glass made it bad. I opened the window, and she was still there, waiting to be shot

Thanks arindam, thats a good log.

Especially the 1600 km in day one with an average of 60, shows consistant and yet possible distance. I have never thought that would be possible

I was just his reliever for an hour in the morning, and about 2 hours in the afternoon. Rest was all done by him. Day 2 onwards it was entirely him.

Thanks laluks. But to reach Kolkata in two days I would personally prefer, Bangalore - Vizag around 15 hours on day 1, and Vizag - Kolkata on day 2, again similar timing. And start at 4:00 am, so that the most of the drive is done at day time, and hitting the resting place by 7:00 pm.

Similarly if you look at day 3, Kolkata - Kanpur, start at 4:00 am would have ensured reaching Kanpur at 7:30 pm, if not earlier.

@Ramkya1: Sir-ji, are you looking for any other information?

Happy to be of help.

Please let me know which are the things missed. Will check if that is captured, and not put in excel. Or at least from next time, will try to keep log of the same as well.

GQ drive completed atlast

Guys,
At last I was able to complete the GQ drive.
After the car was repaired, on 6th june, I took it for a test drive along with the maruti dealers & my cousin(who also works for a maruti dealer in bangalore).
We did a drive of around 300kms.
We drove from Ahmedabad-Shyamlaji-Bichiwada-Acident spot & back. I visited the accident spot only to find that a WagonR had crashed the same morning, no injuries but substantial damage to the car, then we came to the Bichiwada Police station, met the cops, had tea, they were very happy to see us & told us us that business was good (hope u guys understand what I mean).
After coming back to Amdavad, the car again went into the workshop for fixing a few nitty gritties (alignment, Tail lights not working, Fuel cap missing etc).
Finally the car was ready.
We left Amdavad on 7th June around 11.30am, both driving (me & my cousin) reached Mumbai (Thane rather) around 6pm, met up with HVKumar & he guided us out the Mumbai traffic mess & due to his directions we were able to reach the expressway in less than an hour, only to find a huge traffic pile up on the Mumbai-Pune expressway due to a bolero which had turned turtle.
Anyway, constant speed after that ensured that we reached Peenya around 6.30am.
I have to place on record the support & assistance i got fromseveral people including team bhp members,
People like ramky, hrag, hvkumar, mjothi, amit,
Kiri bhai patel (Insurance surveyor), Daval Patel/Jayesh patel/Anjani Kumar/Ajay Patel/Pandey bhai(service team, kiran motors), Devendar Bhai(who provided us acomodation), Kallu Bhai/Pervez bhai(Michelin dealers, Amdavad), Jaineet bhai(michelin employee)
And all thoses people whose names I cannot recall now,
A BIG THANK YOU

Congrats GSMINC on completing the drive. Hats-off to your perseverance and attitude. There were many who wanted to do this drive but had to drop off due to various reasons. You kept at it and completed.

Great show, GSMINC. We have to admire your tenacity and determination to complete what you set out to do, and we are happy that you are home safe, and the car is in pink of health. Thank God.
