Dr.Ghosh,

It is a great plan, with the return tickets sold out on mode tatkal, my chances are damned. I will try another weekend, hope the rains stay.

Meanwhile this is what happened at Anantapur, about +300kms from Hyderabad yesterday.

VILLAGERS STONE LEOPARD TO DEATH.
‘THE COLD STARE’ - I always heard about it, read about it. Now I know it - up close-image002.jpg

It attacked and killed 2 sheep in the night and ended up being killed. Forest dept. is filing cases against 30 villagers it seems. This is the direct fallout of human encroachment on forest land, thus decimating the predators habitat and prey base. The never ending cases pending in various courts have not gone beyond the hearing stage since decades, where poachers were caught with tiger carcasses.
Will the 30 villagers ever be prosecuted? The viscous cycle of man animal conflict continues.
Regards,

Circuit : An image from 3 weekends back

Circuit - up close and personal
‘THE COLD STARE’ - I always heard about it, read about it. Now I know it - up close-img_5544-circuit-up-cose-ad-persoa-copy.jpg

This is Circuit - the most inquisitive male cub of the litter of 4. This bold guy came right up to my Gypsy door to investigate at eye level with a kind of "gum chewing" American "who's the boss" attitude.
Loved photographing his various expressions.

He's maturing into a fine Tiger.

Fazal saab : Plan for next weekend from now itself.

regards,
Dr. A Ghosh

Cubs in water......

Here's a few selected pics from about 40GB shots that I shot one fine morning few weeks back at Tadoba when I was lucky to get these cubs playing in water.

I would have loved to. But with my leg like this, I won't be even able to run and climb a tree if a tiger chases me.

We are not allowed to and never get out of the vehicle inside the jungle.
All the action happens from inside the vehicle.

@Abheek. That was intended pun. I'm aware of the rules as I've been to Gir 7 times.

@Sanjay. Take the Chennai Rajdhani or TN express. Even AP express is good.
