That may be so! I am not an expert, I just reproduced a nugget I read earlier and remembered now.

Checked the local market for Accelere, got two quotes:-3600 and other one quoted 3300.Should I search around for better rates?Or 3300/tyre is good enough.
Was quoted 3800/tyre for A-drive and 4200-4400 for Continental.

you forgot the tyre size, that will help in comparing prices.

I definitely agree. I was considering the Accellare for my accord and was shot down. I don't understand why. I have no personal experience with the brand or their tyres, but most of what I've heard here is positive. I then wonder why the tyre gurus shun our indigenous product?

If I may comment, extremely high tech equipment (yes more complicated than a GTR) is being built in India under license. Stuff that sells for upto 30 crores etc. The point is, this kind of equipment is really sensitive, and has to show immense precision and accuracy, but it is still being produced right here in India!

So the idea is please don't knock Indian products, we are making it up there in terms of quality. I sure would love to get my hands on one of these tyres though...Just for fun

DocG, We didnt recommend the Apollos for oyur car because you were going for the Aspire or the Acelere Sportz. Both of which have not sold well and there is a lack of feedback(positive or negative).

But most people dont have a hesitation recommending the normal Aceleres. They are tried and tested to some extent.

OK I can understand that. Thanks for clearing it out Nikhil. I'd definitely like to try out the performance range from Apollo some time in the future, sadly they aren't my choice for my upcoming upgrade.

Nikhil do you by any change stock the Sportz or the Aspire? If you do or even if you just come by one/ could go a little out of your way. I'm sure the TBhp community would be grateful to know how you judge the tyre. I've heard that for many in the business, there comes a time when the tyrewalla can hold the tyre in his hand and determine whether or not it'll be good (Read that as for regular legal daily driving). Thanks,

I'm going in for a new set of tyres real soon (A few days). And if I may say so myself they're probably a TBhp first .
I'm definitely going to be flamed.

Well, that would be a very dangerous thing to do! It's quite foolish to judge a tyre only by how it looks and feels.

If you think about it, I'm pretty sure the Aspire and the Acelere Sportz will be decent to drive on. The Acelere is pretty good and these two will definitely be an improvement.

225/55 R16 tyres for Embera

Need to decide on my next set of tyres for my Embera. Shortlisted the below 4:

Michelin Primacy LC - 9K
Goodyear GSD3 - Rs 5.9K
Goodyear Eagle NCT5 - Rs 6.3K
Acelere Sportz - Rs 7.2K

Except for the price of the Michelin, I am all for it. But any problem with the other options. If anyone has any experience with the Goodyear, Apollo tyres, I would like to hear of it. Need to get the replacements soon.

Why not the Continental CPC2? And how come no Yokohamas in your list?

I've recently changed my tyres on my Indica turbo to 185/60 R14 Accelere (League 14x6J alloys). And the change was from Goodyear Eagel F1 195/60 R14. The difference is obvious. Almost zero noise level and gives very good grip level and comfort.

Long time buddy.

How is the steering now?
You had complaints about your steering being very hard while you were running the goodyear's.
