Re: Michelin XM2 Tyres in India

Got my Alto's tyres changed to XM2 around 3 weeks back. 4 tyres + Valves + Alignment + Weights costed Rs 12100. Previous tyres were stock Bridgestone (Tube). Compared to the old tyres ride is much softer. Driven only couple of hundred KM's yet though.

Re: Michelin XM2 Tyres in India

Got the tyres for my City changed to XM2 185/65/R15. Cost me 5250 bucks each.

Felt a noticable improvement in ride quality and road noise compared to the stock Bridgestone ones I drove for 47K KMs. And the GC has improved noticably, there are a few speedbreakers in the DT mall that my front mudflap always used to scrape. No such issues anymore. Fills the wheel well better too. So all in all I'm happy with the purchase, and in going for 185/65.

However, even I think there is a loud 'thud' noise if I hit the potholes, don't recall hearing such a sound earlier.

Hi Arun a friend of mine is interested to go for XM2 for his figo. Is Tyre Care located in Ramnagar? Do you have any references there? Thanks

I thought the All New Honda City came with 14" rims, not 15. So did you upsize the rims too?

I'm sorry my bad....I meant 14 only.
I think 185/65 with 15" might scrape the wheel well when loaded.

Hi smrtdvl, its located on Bharathiar road, on the left side when going towards Women's Polytechnic from RV Hotel. Ask your friend to contact Mr. Abel, Manager, he gives good discount. I'm not sure whether he remembers my name, if you tell about changing of tyres for two Vistas (XM2s and Apollo Aceleres), he will recognise me.

Hey thanks for the info but since my friend was in a hurry and wanted to change his tyres yesterday itself got him Bridgestone Turanza AR10 for Rs.4600 / tyre and paid Rs.100 for the weights. Anyways hope these pointers will help me if I go for Michelin's for my 26K Kms run Vista :-)

Re: Michelin XM2 Tyres in India

Can any T-BHPian please help with this query : What is the tread depth of 185/70/R14 XM2 tyres? I want to check how much tread depth has reduced; the tyres are 13000 KM old.

Usual standard tread depth of road tyres is 7-8mm. Mostly its 8mm. And the tread depth varies slightly between brands but remains fairly same among the tyre models of same brand. So you can assume it was 8mm when new and carry out the measurements

Re: Michelin XM2 Tyres in India

Time to change my car's tyres . Please share your thoughts.

Reason: Need to replace a tyre so planning to replace all four.
Ford Fiesta TDCI . 45000km on MRF ZVTS.
Same size : 175/65 R14

Options : (all prices do not include WA and Balancing) At Hyderabad
1. MRF ZVTS : Rs.15800 (3413 make)
2. Bridgestone S322 : Rs.18800 (3413 make)
3. Michelin XM2 Rs.18800 (1513 make)
4. Apollo Acelere

Most of my ride is in the city .Occasional Highway ride.

Requirement: Good Grip , Least Noise and good value .

Need advise between the options Bridgestone and Michelin .Also is Apollo a good option.
I need to get the tyres changed by evening today .
So no pressure .. its only the end of the world

Re: Michelin XM2 Tyres in India

If requirement is least noise and choice has to be between S322 & XM2, please opt for XM2.

+1 for this. I got an XM2 on my Ritz about a month ago and looks like its not that delicate too like the older michelins used to be.

Re: Michelin XM2 Tyres in India

Does XM2 come for 15" Punto wheels, because mine is 2012 topend model which come with Alloy wheels .If yes then where in bangalore will i get it a good price.
I have done 30k on my GT3's and not happy aymore with them ,previously in my santro i ran XM1 which i was very happy with hence thinking of getting the tyres changed.

Also i was thinking can i upsize to 205/60/15 when i am already running 195/60/15 ?
This idea popped when i saw a Yoko S-drive tyre in 205/55/15 size.
What are the positives and negatives for the same ?
Fellow bhpians please advice....
