Now phamilyman, that's a good suggestion. Thanks. Will seriously think about this.
Ninja, my replies in bold below.

- Location of this puncture shop? Inspite of what the guilt you read in his eyes, I doubt if he's NOT going to do it again. Location - Akurdi, near Thermax. I feel I read the guilt correctly. Being a hard core HR guy helps
- 4 punctures on the sidewall? Wouldn't recommend you to use that tire. Keep it as the spare probably. Yes. My tyres are due for change anyway. |

For being born and raised in a country like ours (India), I sometimes think of thanking people like you, even unknowingly. Yeah, laws and orders are there to care of all the miscreants but people like you contribute at certain level and fixes such small issues on-the-spot!
All I can suggest on such incidents to scare them by telling to complain to Police.
BTW, please share the location of that puncture walla, to either avoid him puncturing more vehicles or get SLAPPED from more people! |
Thanks. I had to do it. To be frank, I felt bad after slapping the guy hard, but, I can't let someone play around like this. Police, forget it, they're the most useless. Imagine what would have happened if I had taken my wife and lil daughter for a drive that night and got stranded somewhere.
No, these guys had to be taught a lesson that not everyone will tolerate this.

Inserting a nail would not be that easy I guess. |
Compass or pin is more than enough. Hardly takes any time.

More than the episode, you will have to be more worried about the abused tyre and take precautions not to use it for longer journeys either as spare or running. |
After slapping the Chotu and he confessing everything, I was breathing fire under the owner's neck. He was literally shivering. I doubt wether he'll have any such ideas again!

Anyway to each his own and am glad you got the issue sorted out eventually and that those chaps have (hopefully) learned their lessons.
On a side note, I'm not sure what this "slap technique" is!! |
Believe me Omtoatom, these guys understand such language only. I am sure, incase they want to fool anyone henceforth, my slaps will ring 1000 times in their ears, and they'll think again. That was my motive.
Slap Technique - Well timed and well placed slap right in the middle of one's cheek - Daya (CID fame) ishtyle, and voila - your job is done!

On a lighter note: You paid Rs.320 for puncture repair, took Rs.500 from the owner - So, Rs.180 for petrol, time spent and mental harassment!? |
vasanthn21 - Just to make them understand what they had planned and what they landed up with. Yes, mental harassment and waste of time on Tuesday morning was irritating to say the least.

Additionally I think investing in the puncture repair kit would be a good idea, the tubeless tire puncture repair doesn't take so much effort that your regular puncture guy should charge you 80 Rs per puncture |
evilshantanu - No. SLAP was a verb and it was a HARD SLAP. Chotu or owner, impact was important. Yes, puncture repair kit is a good idea.

Valid point. On a lighter note, me and my wife would add up a well over 100 kg.
