I havent tested them back to back, but I feel that the Primacy Lc would be better. The ER 60 is a lower end tyre and aimed more towards the XM1+ than the Primacy LC.

I cant compare and comment much about this tire with other tires (except BFG Sport ).
Hehe. It's such an unfair comparison! Those BFG G Force sports are among the noisiest tyres available!

XM1+ or Primacy LC

After reading tons of threads, i am still confused on what the best option for my suzuki swift Vxi would be. I am contemplating between the XM1+ and the Primacy LC. the cost difference between the two is about Rs. 800 per tire. I am planning on going in for 195/65/R15 with Lenso 15x6.5J 100 PCD rims. Please can someone help me out here.

Thank-you

Please don't go for the 195/65r15 for your swift kartman, it will make the car very bumpy. The premacy lc is a far better tyre than the xm1+ in all aspects.

Why dont you check out on the es100 from yokohama or the conti premium contact from continental? They seem to be better tyres all together.

If you are going in for alloy wheels go in for tyres that have rim protectors. The yokohama es 100 has the rim protectors they look really good in any alloy wheels and also protects the rims from any damages. They are little bit less expensive around 4k.

195/65 15 tyres have a higher load index so they dont take the vehicle load as compared to the 195/60-15 (they become more stiffer).

I read in todays newspaper that Michelin is going to replace XM1 with Primacy LC. Primacy LC will be available in sizes starting from 14".

My Corolla (2007) has Bridgestone 195/60 R15 Potenza. So far run upto 41K, with a lot of life (say 1.5 years based on 8K/annum of driving).

May replace them sooner especially if tyre prices go down, as they are. Did check that 195/60 R15 Bridgetsone is 4.1K/piece. People here are quoting Rs. 4.5K/pc. for Primacy LC.

I have already 1 Michelin set on Corsa, and would not mind another on the Corolla, when time calls. However, for me, low noise and comfort rule over performance and grip. In that sense, I was already told by reignofchaos that perhaps Michelin would be better.

vasudeva,
None of the gurus here will recommend BS tyres. To quote iraghava's post sometime back reg why he discourages BS Potenza - "The technology has moved on, and the only country that is still a market for this outdated tyre is India" .. or something on those lines.

The Primacy LC is a highly comfort oriented tyre. If you are looking at a VFM option, you can look at the Yokohama A-Drives. Should be around 3700-3900 per tyre.

Check Today's hindu additional paper or This month's Autocar magazine. They didn't mention about the size. Pricing would 5% higher than Energy series.

@Vasudeva --- Michelin Primacy LC would suit your requirements to a T.

Primacy LC is going to replace XM1+ only in 15" and above. Like 205/65 R15, 205/60 R15, 195/60 R15, 195/65 R15....

Yes, I read it in Hindu auto suppliment that comes on Wednesday. I think the sizes were mentioned from 14". It caught my attention as I have 14" alloys.

But michelin website have sizes only from 15".

Primacy LC is not available in 14". Your only option is XM1+ in 185/65 R14.
