I am planning to replace my Goodyear GT3(195/60/R15).
Please help me to decide between Michelin Primacy LC and Conti CPC2.
I am looking for low tyre noise, Comfy ride and not much compromise on handling.
Could any one get me info about some good tyre dealers in Hyderbad who deals with Michelin and Conti?

Thanks

Guys, I'm planning to swap NCT5s with Primacy LC (both being 195/65 R15) on a new civic for a deal price of about 1800/- per tyre; so it would 9K overall.

1. Is this a good deal ?
2. Is it really worth ? Are NCT5s so bad (in terms of handling/noise) ?
3. Is it necessary to do the wheel alignment on a new car with just tyres changed ?

Thanx.

I think it is a good deal. The NCT5's are OK tyres, very durable but has tyre noise. Wheel Alignment may not be necessary after the change, but wheel balancing is a must.

Sorry for bringing up an old thread but did you make the switch, how was your end result? I am looking to do the same.

I upsized to Primacy LC 205/65 R15 on my new Civics and I am extremely happy with it.. before zeroing on it, I read almost every reviews, pros, cons etc about the new Primacy LC tyres and finally took the plunge. Noise is very little and I see improvement in FE as well.. yeah, it has soft side walls, but unless you do hardcore thrashing/connering in high speed, it should not be an issue.. though its a bit expensive, I say, go for it!

iTNerd could you please tell where you got the LCs from and how much did they cost you. I am changing footwear on my Octy as well and have zeroed in on LCs as an ideal replacement. I want the exact same size that you got (205/65 R15) so it would be great if you could share the price and location info.

I got them from a michelin dealer 'BK Tyres', Lajpat Nagar (behind Elegant Accessories). I paid 8K for 5 tyres (205/65 R15) after exchanging my stock bridgestones.. (5400 per tyre, I guess)

Address;
A-1/108, Lajpat Nagar-I, Near Defence Colony Fly Over, New Delhi - 110024

Primacy LC

Have finished around 2K kms on my Primacy-LC (Front only, rear is MXV8) including lot of curves on the Ooty ghat roads (Civic-AT OEM size 195/65R15).

Low-noise, great grip, as another BHPian put it, the word is Sublime!
On the highway at cruising speed from 80 to 130 kmph, the experience is new!
I am eagerly waiting to finish off my two other MXV8 so that I can go LC on all four!

I want to replace the stock tire (205/60/R16) which comes with cruze to a better option.
I would like to stick with the same size as stock, as I would not like to void the warranty.
My requirements are
  1. Excellent braking in both dry and wet conditions
  2. Comfortable ride
  3. low noise
Longevity in terms of tire wear, is least on my requirement. I have heard and read a lot about primacy LC. I would also like to know if there are any option from Continental or Yokohoma which fits the bill.
Lastly if you all can suggest some good dealer in Mumbai suburbs

Continental would be better given your requirements. The Conti CPC2. Its got a slightly harder ride than the Michelin Primacy LC but it makes up in handling and VFM.

I couldn't find continental CPC2 tires with the dealers.
Please let me know where can I find one in Mumbai suburubs.

I got a quotation for primacy LC and Yokohama ES501 205/60/16.
the dealer is asking for 7800 per tire for primacy LC and 6300 for yokos.
Not sure if its on higher side or not, also he is only giving me 3000 for JK vectra in exchange.

If anyone has got better deal recently in Mumbai, kindly let me know.

7800 per tyre for Primacy LC in 205/60 R16? Are you sure? It's awfully cheap. The listed price is 8750.

3000 per tyre is just about ok. But if you are getting the Primacy LC at 7800, then it's obvious the entire deal is very sweet. Take it.
