MK 1 Cortina

Saw this nice MK 1 Ford Cortina in Thane. May be for sale, the guy was non commital.
(Pics taken with permission, so number plates not blanked out).
The car has a rexine finished roof. A most interesting, and classic touch !!

A smart looking car - I think this same car was offered for sale a couple of months back, with an elderly gent in long term ownership. Looks in great condition, a great project for a starter classic.

Somehow that paint job looks terribly bumby/lumpy. The entire streamline/body line is wavy. Seems to be the cheapest read really bad paint work! I like to her stance typical of the boy racers converted by folks in UK/NZ/AU. There was also lotus addition that were availabe. She would make a cute hot rod or neo classic with a nice set of period type alloys

Ravi, that car is for sale and the initial price he quoted was somewhere around 3 Lakhs +. It has been laying with this dealer for a few months now. Dr had gone to see this car. but said there is work in it, especially the paint job, otherwise the car is good.

The place where the car is parked is very cose by to my place just 5 / 10 mins walk from my place..

Hello,
This is one of our family cars. It is at Nashik Maharashtra. The photos were taken at Igatpuri while I drove it to a place near Kalyan from Nashik, which is around 150 Kms. Yes, its an Austin 7, 1931. We also own another Austin 1935 which is also at Nashik.

Hi Sudhir,

Is your other car working? Did you manage to get a head for it?
BTW, do you have the original registration book of this BMW registered car? If yes, then the original single alphabet registration number will be mentioned inside the back cover of the first page. If it is a duplicate book, then probably not.
Nice car!

Cheers harit

Hi Harit,

I will have to check whether the Book is original. Because we purchased this car way back in 60's. The other car is also working. We also have recently bought a Prefect Ford 1953 which is being restored. We have our own workshop at Nashik.
The Original Head was perfect.

Regards
Sudhir

Hi! Sudhir
Great to see you and your car here. Its been long we met, very recently your brother Mr. Sunil had come to meet me and we had all those wonderful car talks. Your Austin looks fit and fine, what about your other cars just put some more pics of them....

Look what I found!!

While on my way back home today, saw this beauty parked near the Taj.
It'd probably suffered a breakdown, since the person with the toolkit in the 1st pic happened to be the mechanic!!

How presumptious!!
This is on Apollo street and the owner has a shop on the opposite side.
I too often take my car to office and call the mechanic to attend to minor work.

Cheers harit
