I feel like an echo (), but given this is my first post since being granted access to these hallowed halls of petrol & piston-heads, I thought I would give it a go anyway.

I'm moving to Chennai in a few weeks and like most on this post-war sub-forum, I am interesting in acquiring a late 60s early 70s all american muscle car.

Dodge, Ford, Chevrolet, Pontiac, Plymouth...any of these big beasts will do.

.....I know, I know...its like finding a needle in a haystack the size of India, but any souls out there who are willing to take pity on a newbie and point him in the direction of a car that needs a new home, please let me know.

I am seeing this car after really many many years. Why do I remember it? Because of that plate, EAK, East Africa Kenya. At one time there was a sort of union between Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda.

A very beautiful car indeed! Ironically, this came just after the series 3 Morris Oxford, which came to us as the Ambassador. If only HM had changed their line-up to look like this, rather than having been stuck with the series 3 design...!

Some of these classics / vintages have been placed as an advt in olx / quikr so many months ago with no takers for the atrocious prices, that the advertiser keeps reposting them hoping to find a "bakra"!

Unfortunately when the advt expires with the vehicle unsold, he reposts it and it comes back on top of the list as "recently posted".

So i guess we can expect these advt to be re-posted here once again in 3 months?

If you mean the green scooter partly seen, I believe thats not a Kelvinator but a Vijai Super, going by the front mudguard.

+100 Stanher. I stand to be corrected but the guy sure has kept his babies in immculate conditions. Only if he was asking for right price.
Last december I came across a similar BOBBY in Jamshedpur & the uncle driving it reluctantly quoted 16K, suspecting that he was asking for TOO much. I haggled with him for 10K & if had persued, he might have agreed.

16k for a well maintained Bobby is a good deal.

I lost a chance to own a Bobby for 18k 2 years back.A well maintained Bobby could even fetch 35 to 40k in Hyderabad.

Well, i sold this red one a few months back for 17k , dont know who has started paying 40k for a bobby.

I guess that we read too much of the "classic valuation thread" and that unfortunately gives us little idea of actual market prices.

This one was sold for 15k , in December 10 , one owner 79 model , original paint.

Dont wish to start going OT but just wanted to illustrate that good classic vehicles are available at realistic prices , you just have to look harder

This red one incidentally was bought by a Senior Bhpian from banglore.
