It is not two coaches but a roadtrain. Please note the T sign on the rear of the second coach.

That is a cool capture. Any idea about the year ? Here I thought sleeper buses were a new age phenomenon. Surprised to see it was there a long time back too.

Road Train. I remember my fascination on travelling in the trailer of a Mysore-Bangalore Non-Stop Road Train, with normal seats. Was fascinated on how silent it was, in the absence of engine noise!

Nikhil Tivari also posted a local road train, as seen on Malleswaram 18th Cross.

Re: The Classic Commercial Vehicles (Bus, Trucks etc) Thread

This is really fascinating. I was under the impression that sleepers were a modern thing. Notice the Murphy type valve radio at the front. Luxury meant something else those days.

Kerala State Road Transport Corporation had introduced similar Road train sevices in Trivandrum city. in period 1976-1979. But it was not used for long distance travel.

Re: The Classic Commercial Vehicles (Bus, Trucks etc) Thread

Foden steam trucks seem to have been in use in Municipalities across in the country in the 1920s. They are advertised here by Jessop & Co.
