Lovely! Only one similar to the top car has been seen before. Though I do not recall the chassis numbers, neither were India cars. Wish they had used some that came here.

Leading historian John Fasal makes the following observations about the lower picture:

It is Hooper picture number H.837 which is the 1929 Phantom II (chassis number 7 XJ)
Hooper sedanca de ville (body number 7325) which was the Rolls-Royce Company's Riviera Trials Car later sold to a French lady, Madame de Vieyra.* Sadly it is not known to survive today and had no Indian connections.

The last car shown "ELU4J" is the Khairpur RR PII, chassis 44MY. Sister car to Jaipur's 89MW.

The MG TC behind also seems to sport PBL plates. Must have been in Punjab at the time.

I believe it is a Lahore registration (at least according to F.D.Scott who owned the car in Lahore, ca 1948). He bought in from a Mr.Baria in Lahore.

It later had "LE-4797" (the photo is from The Flying Lady, 1965-66).
