I remember that my dad use to say that there was a fan on the dash, possibly it was a rubber bladed defroster fan you see in big American cars. He used to cover on an average 3,000 miles every month without any breakdown; that was in the late 1950s when he was one of the two Asst Motor Vehicle Inspectors in the Malabar District of the newly formed Kerala State. I recently found out that this car is in Ooty with a car collector, but off the roads as it does not have a valid registration. I have a similar spot light with mirror purchased nearly 20 years ago from US, to fit on my Singer Roadster or our Morris in case I was able to buy it back. Well, that was what I was thinking then!

"Michelle’s mother, her two brothers, her parents and grandparents, (many generations) were all born and raised in India.

Michelle’s mother’s family stayed in Madras until 1954, then moved to England after all the changes in India during the early 1950's after Independence..

Michelle’s Grandfather left behind his business started by his grandfather, making prosthetic limbs, outerwear etc. The business was located in Madras on 172 Broadway, “J. P. Hussam & Co.”

A very old place, they had a branch in Calcutta assembling Graham-Paige cars.
They are very knowledgeable about tires, one can get radials with damaged side walls repaired here. That Cash register is not 106 years old for sure. Cottage Industries had similar machines in use, NCR (National Cash Register).

They also had a nice collection of photographs. Must have been mentioned on this thread a few years ago.

Someone shared a photo with me of a veteran car in India. There are extremely low number of veteran survivors in India, so any picture found is welcome. The photographer's stamp on the mounting is from Surat. Any guesses about the make of the car?
